120. A Glimpse of the Grace of the Three-Year-Old Daughter of Imam Husain (a.s.)

The late Ḥājj Jaʿfar ʿAlīzādah, a sincere and close friend of this humble servant, was once severely ill. His brother-in-law Āqā Mahdī narrated to me on Saturday night, 2/9/81 [corresponding to 1423 AH] that:

At one point, Āqā ʿAlīzādah fell seriously ill. My sister became very worried. She went into another room and supplicated, seeking the intercession of Lady Ruqayyah, and vowed to offer a sheep as a sacrifice (qurbānī) in her name.

Then she returned to the room where Āqā ʿAlīzādah was resting — only to find that he had already sat up!

She asked in surprise, “How did you wake up? And how were you able to sit up?”

Āqā ʿAlīzādah replied, “I was lying down when a young girl came to me and said, ‘Get up.’

I replied, ‘I’m sick and I do not have the strength to rise.’

She came forward, held my hand, helped me rise, and made me sit up. At that moment, I woke up from sleep.”

His wife (i.e., the sister of Āqā Mahdī) responded, “That was Lady Ruqayyah! I had just invoked her help in that room and made a vow of sacrifice in her name.”
