وفاته

أرخت أغلب المصادر التي ترجمت له وفاته في سنة ١١٠٧ ه‌ ، في قرية نعيم ، ونقل جثمانه الشريف إلى قرية توبلي ، ودفن في مقبرة ماتيني من مساجد القرية المذكورة ، وقبره اليوم مزار معظم معروف.

His death:

Most of the sources that wrote his biography dated his death to the year 1107 AH, in the village of Naʿīm. His noble body was transferred to the village of Tūblī and buried in the Maṭīnī cemetery, one of the mosques of the mentioned village, and his grave today is a well-known and greatly revered shrine.

ويؤيد هذا التاريخ أيضا ما نقل في (رياض العلماء) في معرض حديثه عن رسالة السيد البحراني التي فرغ منها سنة ١١٠٧ ه‌ ، يقول : قد ألفها في آخر عمره حين كان مريضا لا يقدر على الحركة أربعة أشهر بإلحاح جماعة من الطلاب وهو لا يقدر على الكتابة لغاية ضعفه ومرضه ، وكان يملي الأخبار في هذه المسألة والطلبة يكتبون إلى أن تمت الرسالة ، فلما تمت الرسالة توفي رحمه‌الله بعده بيوم ، أو أزيد ، من ذلك المرض بالبحرين سنة سبع ومائة وألف من الهجرة. وقيل في تاريخ وفاته أيضا : إنه في سنة ١١٠٩ ه‌ ، على ما نقل عن بعض المشايخ أن وفاته كانت بعد موت الشيخ محمد بن ماجد المتوفى سنة ١١٠٥ ه‌ بأربع سنين.

This date is also supported by what is reported in Riyāḍ al-ʿUlamāʾ in the course of its discussion about the treatise of al-Sayyid al-Baḥrānī, which he completed in the year 1107 AH. It says: “He authored it at the end of his life when he was ill and unable to move for four months, due to the insistence of a group of students, while he was unable to write because of extreme weakness and illness. He would dictate the reports on this matter, and the students would write them until the treatise was completed. When the treatise was completed, he (may Allah have mercy on him) passed away a day, or more, afterward, from that illness, in Bahrain, in the year seven hundred and one thousand (1107) of the Hijrah.”[7]

It is also said regarding the date of his death that it was in the year 1109 AH, as related from some scholars who stated that his death occurred four years after the death of al-Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Mājid, who passed away in the year 1105 AH.
