Translation: Five are in the head and five are in the body. As for those in the head: trimming the mustache, letting the beards grow, tomm al-sha‘r [1], the tooth-stick (siwak), and using a toothpick (to remove food). As for those in the body: shaving the hair of the body, circumcision, trimming the nails, the ritual bath after major impurity, and purification with water. This is the pure primordial religion (al-hanifiyyah al-tahirah) that Ibrahim brought; it has not been abrogated and will not be abrogated until the Day of Resurrection.
Quran 2:136 (M. H. Shakir): Say: We believe in Allah and (in) that which has been revealed to us, and that which was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Ya‘qub and the tribes, and that which was given to Musa and Isa, and that which was given to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.
Quran 2:137 (M. H. Shakir): So if they believe in the like of what you believe in, then indeed they are on the right course; and if they turn back, then surely they are only in great opposition; so Allah will suffice you against them, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

99-/652 _1- Al-‘Ayyashi: from al-Mufaddal b. Salih, from some of his companions, regarding His saying, “Say: We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to Ibrahim and Isma‘il and Ishaq and Ya‘qub and the tribes”: As for His saying “Say,” from it [they are] the Family of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and his family). And His saying, “So if they believe in the like of what you believe in, then indeed they are guided,” [refers to] the rest of the people.

99-/653 _2- From Hanan b. Sadir, from his father, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him). He said: I said to him, “Were the children of Ya‘qub prophets?” He said: “No, but they were tribes (asbat), the sons of prophets; and they did not depart this world except as felicitous ones—they repented and remembered what they had done.” And Muhammad b. Ya‘qub narrated this hadith with his chain from Hanan, from his father, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) with an addition after his saying, “and they remembered what they had done,” namely his statement (peace be upon him): “Except [2] the two Shaykhs; they departed the world without repenting and without remembering what they did to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him); so upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.” [3]

[Then] the discourse from Allah returns to [address] the people, so He said: ‘So if they’—meaning the people—‘believe in the like of what you believe in’—meaning ‘Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, al-Husayn, and the Imams (peace be upon them)’—‘then indeed they are guided; but if they turn away, then they are only in schism.’”
