Yunus Ayah 101

يونس آية 101

قُلِ انْظُرُوا مٰا ذٰا فِي السَّمٰاوٰاتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ مٰا تُغْنِي الْآيٰاتُ وَ النُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لاٰ يُؤْمِنُونَ [101]

Say: Consider what is it that is in the heavens and the earth; and signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe. (Qur’an 10:101, M. H. Shakir)

99-/4990 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ،عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ،عَنْ دَاوُدَ الرَّقِّيِّ،قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى:

وَ مٰا تُغْنِي الْآيٰاتُ وَ النُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لاٰ يُؤْمِنُونَ .قَالَ:«الْآيَاتُ هُمْ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ [1]،وَ النُّذُرُ هُمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ(صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ)».

وَ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،فِي تَفْسِيرِهِ،بِعَيْنِ السَّنَدِ وَ الْمَتْنِ [2].

99-/4990 _1- Muhammad b. Ya‘qub—from al-Husayn b. Muhammad—from al-Mu‘alla b. Muhammad—from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. ‘Abdullah—from Ahmad b. Hilal—from Umayyah b. ‘Ali—from Dawud al-Raqqi—said: I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) about the words of Allah, Blessed and Exalted: “And signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.” He said: “The signs (al-ayat) are the Family of Muhammad, and the warners (al-nudhur) are the prophets (may Allah’s blessings be upon them all).”

And ‘Ali b. Ibrahim transmitted this hadith in his Tafsir with the very same chain and text.

99-/4991 _2- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ،عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْكَاهِلِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: وَ مٰا تُغْنِي الْآيٰاتُ وَ النُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لاٰ يُؤْمِنُونَ .

قَالَ:«لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)بِالْبُرَاقِ فَرَكِبَهَا،فَأَتَى بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ،فَلَقِيَ مَنْ لَقِيَ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ(صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ)،ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَحَدَّثَ أَصْحَابَهُ:أَنِّي أَتَيْتُ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ وَ رَجَعْتُ مِنَ اللَّيْلَةِ،وَ قَدْ جَاءَنِي جَبْرَئِيلُ بِالْبُرَاقِ فَرَكِبْتُهَا،وَ آيَةُ ذَلِكَ أَنِّي مَرَرْتُ بِعِيرٍ لِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَلَى مَاءٍ لِبَنِي فُلاَنٍ،وَ قَدْ أَضَلُّوا جَمَلاً لَهُمْ أَحْمَرَ،وَ قَدْ هَمَّ الْقَوْمُ فِي طَلَبِهِ.

فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ:إِنَّمَا جَاءَ الشَّامَ وَ هُوَ رَاكِبٌ سَرِيعٌ،وَ لَكِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَتَيْتُمُ الشَّامَ وَ عَرَفْتُمُوهَا،فَسَلُوهُ عَنْ أَسْوَاقِهَا وَ أَبْوَابِهَا وَ تُجَّارِهَا.فَقَالُوا:يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،كَيْفَ الشَّامُ،وَ كَيْفَ أَسْوَاقُهَا؟»قَالَ:«وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنِ الشَّيْءِ لاَ يَعْرِفُهُ شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُرَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ-قَالَ-فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)، فَقَالَ:يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،هَذِهِ الشَّامُ قَدْ رُفِعَتْ لَكَ.فَالْتَفَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالشَّامِ بِأَبْوَابِهَا وَ أَسْوَاقِهَا وَ تُجَّارِهَا،وَ قَالَ:أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ الشَّامِ؟فَقَالُوا لَهُ:فُلاَنٌ وَ فُلاَنٌ،فَأَجَابَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)فِي كُلِّ مَا سَأَلُوهُ،فَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ،وَ هُوَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى: وَ مٰا تُغْنِي الْآيٰاتُ وَ النُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لاٰ يُؤْمِنُونَ »ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):«نَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ لاَ نُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ وَ بِرَسُولِهِ،آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ بِرَسُولِهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)».

99-/4991 _2- And from him—from Muhammad b. Yahya—from Ahmad b. Muhammad—from ‘Ali b. al-Hakam—from ‘Abdullah b. Yahya al-Kahili—from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), regarding the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “And signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.” He said: “When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) was taken on the Night Journey, Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him with the Buraq, so he mounted it and came to Bayt al-Maqdis. He met there whom he met of his brothers among the prophets (may Allah’s blessings be upon them). Then he returned and told his companions: ‘I went to Bayt al-Maqdis and came back that very night. Gabriel came to me with the Buraq and I rode it. A sign of that is that I passed by a caravan of Abu Sufyan at a watering place of the Banu So-and-so, and they had lost a red camel and the people were intent on searching for it.’ So some of them said to others: ‘He only went to al-Sham riding a swift mount. But since you have been to al-Sham and know it, ask him about its markets, its gates, and its merchants.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, how is al-Sham and how are its markets?’” He said: “When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) was asked about something he did not know, that weighed upon him until it could be seen in his face.” He said: “While he was in that state, Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, here is al-Sham raised up for you.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) turned, and there it was—al-Sham with its gates, its markets, and its merchants. He said: ‘Where is the one who asked about al-Sham?’ They said: ‘So-and-so and so-and-so.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) answered them concerning everything they asked him, but only a few of them believed. That is the word of Allah, Blessed and Exalted: ‘And signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.’” Then Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: “We seek refuge in Allah from not believing in Allah and His Messenger. We have believed in Allah and His Messenger (may Allah bless him and his Family).”

99-/4992 _3- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْكَاهِلِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ:سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ

بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)بِالْبُرَاقِ فَرَكِبَهَا،فَأَتَى بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ،فَلَقِيَ مَنْ لَقِيَ مِنْ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ،ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَأَصْبَحَ يُحَدِّثُ أَصْحَابَهُ:أَنِّي أَتَيْتُ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ اللَّيْلَةَ،وَ لَقِيتُ إِخْوَانِي مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ.فَقَالُوا:يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَ كَيْفَ أَتَيْتَ بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ اللَّيْلَةَ؟فَقَالَ:جَاءَنِي جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)بِالْبُرَاقِ،فَرَكِبْتُهُ،وَ آيَةُ ذَلِكَ أَنِّي مَرَرْتُ بِعِيرٍ لِأَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَلَى مَاءٍ لِبَنِي فُلاَنٍ،وَ قَدْ أَضَلُّوا جَمَلاً لَهُمْ وَ هُمْ فِي طَلَبِهِ».

قَالَ:«فَقَالَ الْقَوْمُ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ:إِنَّمَا جَاءَ رَاكِباً سَرِيعاً،وَ لَكِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَتَيْتُمُ الشَّامَ وَ عَرَفْتُمُوهَا،فَسَلُوهُ عَنْ أَسْوَاقِهَا وَ أَبْوَابِهَا وَ تُجَّارِهَا».قَالَ:«فَسَأَلُوهُ،فَقَالُوا:يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،كَيْفَ الشَّامُ وَ كَيْفَ أَسْوَاقُهَا؟وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنِ الشَّيْءِ لاَ يَعْرِفُهُ يَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُرَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ-قَالَ-فَبَيْنَا هُوَ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ أَتَاهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،فَقَالَ:يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،هَذِهِ الشَّامُ قَدْ رُفِعَتْ لَكَ،فَالْتَفَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالشَّامِ وَ أَبْوَابِهَا وَ تُجَّارِهَا،فَقَالَ:أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ الشَّامِ؟فَقَالُوا:أَيْنَ بَيْتُ فُلاَنٍ وَ مَكَانُ فُلاَنٍ [1]؟فَأَجَابَهُمُ عَنْ كُلِّ مَا سَأَلُوهُ عَنْهُ -قَالَ-فَلَمْ يُؤْمِنْ مِنْهُمْ إِلاَّ قَلِيلٌ،وَ هُوَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ: وَ مٰا تُغْنِي الْآيٰاتُ وَ النُّذُرُ عَنْ قَوْمٍ لاٰ يُؤْمِنُونَ فَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ لاَ نُؤْمِنَ بِاللَّهِ وَ رَسُولِهِ،آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ بِرَسُولِهِ،آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ بِرَسُولِهِ».

99-/4992 _3- … Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) with the Buraq, so he mounted it and came to Bayt al-Maqdis. He met the prophets whom he met, then returned and, come morning, he told his companions: “I went to Bayt al-Maqdis last night, and I met my brothers among the prophets.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, how did you go to Bayt al-Maqdis last night?” He said: “Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to me with the Buraq, and I rode it. A sign of that is that I passed by a caravan of Abu Sufyan at a watering place of the Banu So-and-so, and they had lost a camel of theirs and were searching for it.” He said: “So the people said to one another: ‘He only came riding swiftly; but you have been to al-Sham and know it, so ask him about its markets, its gates, and its merchants.’” He said: “They asked him and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, how is al-Sham and how are its markets?’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family), when he was asked about something he did not know, it weighed upon him until that could be seen in his face.” He said: “While he was like that, Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, here is al-Sham raised up for you.’ The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his Family) turned, and there it was—al-Sham with its gates and its merchants. He said: ‘Where is the one who asked about al-Sham?’ They said: ‘Where is the house of So-and-so, and the place of So-and-so?’ He answered them about everything they asked him.” He said: “But only a few of them believed, and that is the word of Allah: ‘And signs and warners do not avail a people who would not believe.’ So we seek refuge in Allah from not believing in Allah and His Messenger. We have believed in Allah and His Messenger; we have believed in Allah and His Messenger.”

fī “Ṭ”: fa-qālū: ayna fulān wa ayna fulān.

قوله تعالى:

قُلْ فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ [102]

Say: Therefore wait; surely I too, with you, am of those who wait. (Qur’an 10:102, M. H. Shakir)

99-/4993 _1- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ،عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فِي الْفَرَجِ.

فَقَالَ:«أَ وَ لَيْسَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ انْتِظَارَ الْفَرَجِ مِنَ الْفَرَجِ؟إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: فَانْتِظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ ».

99-/4993 _1- Al-‘Ayyashi—from Muhammad b. al-Fudayl—from Abu al-Hasan al-Rida (peace be upon him). He said: I asked him about a matter concerning the Relief. He said: “Do you not know that awaiting the Relief is itself part of the Relief? Surely Allah says: ‘Therefore wait; surely I too, with you, am of those who wait.’”

قوله تعالى:

كَذٰلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنٰا نُنْجِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ -إلى قوله تعالى- وَ اتَّبِعْ مٰا يُوحىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَ اصْبِرْ حَتّٰى يَحْكُمَ اللّٰهُ وَ هُوَ خَيْرُ الْحٰاكِمِينَ [103-109]

Thus do We deliver the believers. (Qur’an 10:103, M. H. Shakir)

And follow what is revealed to you, and be patient till Allah should give judgment, and He is the best of the judges. (Qur’an 10:109, M. H. Shakir)

99-/4994 _2- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنْ مَصْقَلَةَ الطَّحَّانِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَا يَمْنَعُكُمْ أَنْ تَشْهَدُوا عَلَى مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟!إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: كَذٰلِكَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنٰا نُنْجِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ».

99-/4994 _2- Al-‘Ayyashi—from Masqala the miller—from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “What prevents you from bearing witness that whoever among you dies upon this matter is truly among the people of Paradise? Surely Allah says: ‘Thus do We deliver the believers.’”
