S 56 Ayat 25 to 29

قوله تعالى:

لاٰ يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهٰا لَغْواً -إلى قوله تعالى- وَ طَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ [25-29]

99-/10396 "They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, Except the word peace, peace. And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! Amid thornless lote-trees, And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another," [Surah Al-Waqi‘ah 56:25–29, M. H. Shakir]

 [25-29] /10396 _1-علي بن إبراهيم:قوله تعالى: لاٰ يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهٰا لَغْواً وَ لاٰ تَأْثِيماً ،قال:الفحش و الكذب و الغناء، قوله تعالى: وَ أَصْحٰابُ الْيَمِينِ مٰا أَصْحٰابُ الْيَمِينِ ،قال:اليمين:عليّ أمير المؤمنين(عليه السلام) و أصحابه و شيعته، و قوله تعالى: فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ ،قال:شجر لا يكون له ورق و لا شوك فيه».

و قَرَأَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):(وَ طَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ)قَالَ:«بَعْضُهُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ».

99-/10396 ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm, regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse" [Surah Al-Wāqiʿah 56:25, M. H. Shakir], said: "[It refers to] obscenity, lying, and singing."

Regarding His saying: "And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand!" [56:27, M. H. Shakir], he said: "The right hand (al-yamīn) is ʿAlī, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), and his companions and his Shīʿah."

And regarding His saying: "Amid thornless lote-trees" [56:28, M. H. Shakir], he said: "A tree that has neither leaves nor thorns."

And Abū ʿAbdillāh (peace be upon him) recited: 'And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another' [56:29, M. H. Shakir], and said: "Layered one upon another."

99-/10397 _2- الطَّبْرِسِيُّ:رَوَى أَصْحَابُنَا،عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ،قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: وَ طَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ ؟ قَالَ:«لاَ،وَ طَلْعٍ مَنْضُودٍ».

99-/10397 Al-Ṭabrisī: Our companions narrated from Ya‘qūb ibn Shuʿayb, who said:

I said to Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him): “And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another?” [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:29, M. H. Shakir] He said: “No, it is: And clustered dates (ṭalʿin manḍūd).”
