Ar-Ra'd Ayah 8-9

الرعد آيه 9-8

«هَادِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ».

The guide of this community is Ali son of Abi Talib.

99-/5469 _27- الثَّعْلَبِيُّ،عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ،عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ،عَنْ عَلِيٍّ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «الْمُنْذِرُ:اَلنَّبِيُّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)، وَ الْهَادِي:رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ».يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ).

99-/5469 _27- Al-Tha‘labī, from al-Suddī, from ‘Abd Khayr, from ‘Alī (peace be upon him) said: “The warner is the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family), and the guide is a man from Banī Hāshim.” He meant himself (peace be upon him).

99-/5470 _28- ابن عبّاس و الضحّاك و الزجاج: إِنَّمٰا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ رسول اللّه(صلّى اللّه عليه و آله) وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ عليّ بن أبي طالب(عليه السلام).

99-/5470 _28- Ibn ‘Abbās, al-Dahhāk, and al-Zajjāj: “You are only a warner” refers to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family), and “and for every people there is a guide” refers to ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him).

قلت:و الرواية عن ابن عبّاس في هذه الآية بهذا المعنى مستفيضة من طرق الخاصّة و العامّة،يطول الكتاب بذكرها.

I say: The report from Ibn ‘Abbās on this verse with this meaning is widely transmitted through both Shi‘a and Sunni paths; the book would grow lengthy by mentioning them.

99-/5471 _29- قال ابن شهر آشوب:صنف أحمد بن محمّد بن سعيد كتابا في قوله تعالى: إِنَّمٰا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ أنها نزلت في أمير المؤمنين(عليه السلام).

99-/5471 _29- Ibn Shahr Āshūb said: Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Sa‘īd authored a book concerning His saying, “You are only a warner and for every people there is a guide,” that it was revealed about the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

قوله تعالى:

اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ وَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بِمِقْدٰارٍ* عٰالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهٰادَةِ الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَعٰالِ [8-9]

Qur’an 13:8-9 (M. H. Shakir): Allah knows what every female bears, and that of which the wombs fall short and that in which they increase, and there is a measure with Him of everything. The Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Great, the Most High.

99-/5472 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ،عَنْ حَمَّادٍ بْنِ عِيسَى،عَنْ حَرِيزٍ،عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ،عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ .

قَالَ:«الْغَيْضُ:كُلُّ حَمْلٍ دُونَ تِسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ: وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ :كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَزْدَادُ عَلَى تِسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ،فَكُلَّمَا رَأَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ الدَّمَ الْخَالِصَ فِي حَمْلِهَا،فَإِنَّهَا تَزْدَادُ بِعَدَدِ الْأَيَّامِ الَّتِي رَأَتْ فِي حَمْلِهَا مِنَ الدَّمِ».

99-/5472 _1- Muḥammad ibn Ya‘qūb: from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad, from al-Ḥusayn ibn Sa‘īd, from Ḥammād ibn ‘Īsā, from Ḥarīz, from one he mentioned, from one of the two (peace be upon them), regarding the word of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: “Allah knows what every female bears, and that of which the wombs fall short and that in which they increase.” He said: “Al-ghayḍ (falling short) is every pregnancy less than nine months; and ‘what they increase’ is everything that goes beyond nine months. So whenever a woman sees pure blood during her pregnancy, she increases by the number of days of blood she saw during her pregnancy.”

99-/5473 _2- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنْ حَرِيزٍ،رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَحَدِهِمَا(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ .

قَالَ:«الْغَيْضُ:كُلُّ حَمْلٍ دُونَ تِسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ :كُلُّ شَيْءٍ يَزْدَادُ عَلَى تِسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ،وَ كُلَّمَا رَأَتِ الدَّمَ فِي حَمْلِهَا مِنَ الْحَيْضِ يَزْدَادُ بِعَدَدِ الْأَيَّامِ الَّتِي رَأَتْ فِي حَمْلِهَا مِنَ الدَّمِ».

99-/5473 _2- Al-‘Ayyāshī: from Ḥarīz, raising it to one of the two (peace be upon them) regarding Allah’s saying: “Allah knows what every female bears, and that of which the wombs fall short and that in which they increase.” He said: “‘Falling short’ is every pregnancy less than nine months, and ‘what they increase’ is everything that exceeds nine months. And whenever she sees blood during her pregnancy from menses, it increases by the number of days of blood she saw during her pregnancy.”

99-/5474 _3- عَنْ زُرَارَةَ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِهِ: مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ «يَعْنِي الذَّكَرَ وَ الْأُنْثَى وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ -قَالَ-اَلْغَيْضُ:مَا كَانَ أَقَلَّ مِنَ الْحَمْلِ وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ :مَا زَادَ عَلَى الْحَمْلِ،فَهُوَ مَكَانَ مَا رَأَتْ مِنَ الدَّمِ فِي حَمْلِهَا».

99-/5474 _3- From Zurārah, from Abū Ja‘far and Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon them) regarding His saying, “what every female bears”—“It means male and female; and ‘that of which the wombs fall short,’ he said, is what is less than the (normal) pregnancy, and ‘what they increase’ is what exceeds the pregnancy—this corresponds to what she saw of blood during her pregnancy.”

99-/5475 _4- عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ،وَ حُمْرَانَ،وَ زُرَارَةَ،عَنْهُمَا(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ)قَالاَ: « مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ مَنِ أُنْثَى أَوْ ذَكَرٍ وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ -قَالَ-مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ حَمْلاً وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ مِنْ أُنْثَى أَوْ ذَكَرٍ».

99-/5475 _4- From Muḥammad ibn Muslim, and Ḥumrān, and Zurārah, from the two of them (peace be upon them): “What every female bears—of female or male; and ‘that of which the wombs fall short,’ he said, is what is not a pregnancy; and ‘what they increase’—of female or male.”

99-/5476 _5- عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ،قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ .

قَالَ:مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ حَمْلاً وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ -قَالَ-اَلذَّكَرُ وَ الْأُنْثَى جَمِيعاً».

99-/5476 _5- From Muḥammad ibn Muslim, who said: I asked Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him) about Allah’s saying: “Allah knows what every female bears and that of which the wombs fall short.” He said: “[It is] what is not a pregnancy; and ‘what they increase,’” he said, “is both the male and the female.”

99-/5477 _6- عَنْ زُرَارَةَ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: اَللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مٰا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثىٰ قَالَ:«الذَّكَرُ وَ الْأُنْثَى» وَ مٰا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحٰامُ قَالَ:«مَا كَانَ دُونَ التِّسْعَةِ فَهُوَ غَيْضٌ» وَ مٰا تَزْدٰادُ قَالَ:«كُلَّمَا رَأَتِ الدَّمَ فِي حَالِ حَمْلِهَا ازْدَادَ بِهِ عَلَى التِّسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ،إِنْ كَانَتْ رَأَتِ الدَّمَ خَمْسَةَ أَيَّامٍ أَوْ أَقَلَّ أَوْ أَكْثَرَ،زَادَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى التِّسْعَةِ أَشْهُرٍ».

99-/5477 _6- From Zurārah, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him) regarding Allah’s saying: “Allah knows what every female bears”—he said: “The male and the female.” “And that of which the wombs fall short”—he said: “What is less than nine (months) is a falling short.” “And that in which they increase”—he said: “Whenever she sees blood while pregnant, that increases beyond the nine months; if she saw blood five days, or less, or more, that amount is added beyond the nine months.”

99-/5478 _7- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي(رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ)،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ،عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ،عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: عٰالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهٰادَةِ .

فَقَالَ:«الْغَيْبُ:مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ،وَ الشَّهَادَةُ:مَا قَدْ كَانَ».

99-/5478 _7- Ibn Bābawayh: He said: My father (may Allah have mercy on him) told us, he said: Sa‘d ibn ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Īsā, from al-Ḥasan ibn ‘Alī ibn Faḍḍāl, from Tha‘labah ibn Maymūn, from some of our companions, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him) regarding the word of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: “Knower of the unseen and the seen.” He said: “The unseen is what has not yet been; and the seen is what has already been.”

قوله تعالى:

سَوٰاءٌ مِنْكُمْ مَنْ أَسَرَّ الْقَوْلَ وَ مَنْ جَهَرَ بِهِ وَ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ سٰارِبٌ بِالنَّهٰارِ [10]

Qur’an 13:10 (M. H. Shakir): Alike of you is he who conceals the word and he who speaks it openly, and he who hides himself by night and he who goes forth by day.

99-/5479 _1- قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ:وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى:

99-/5479 _1- ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said: And in the narration of Abū al-Jārūd, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), regarding His—exalted is He—saying:
