(Quran 10:7, M. H. Shakir)

Surely those who do not hope in Our meeting and are pleased with this world's life and are content with it, and those who are heedless of Our communications.

Ali ibn Ibrahim said: His saying, Surely those who do not hope in Our meeting, meaning they do not believe in it; and, and are pleased with this world's life and are content with it, and those who are heedless of Our communications—he said: the “communications” are the Commander of the Faithful and the Imams (peace be upon them). The proof of that is the saying of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him): “There is no sign of Allah greater than me.”

Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Umayr or someone else, from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl, from Abu Hamzah, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him). He said: I said to him, “May I be your ransom, the Shi‘a are asking you about the interpretation of this verse: ‘What are they asking one another about? About the great announcement.’” He said: “That is up to me: if I wish I inform them, and if I wish I do not inform them.” Then he said: “But I will inform you of its interpretation.” I said, “What are they asking one another about?” He said: “It is about the Commander of the Faithful (blessings of Allah be upon him). The Commander of the Faithful (blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say: ‘There is no sign of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, greater than me, and there is no announcement of Allah greater than me.’”

(Quran 78:1-2, M. H. Shakir)

Of what do they ask one another? Of the great event.

There will come—if Allah, the Exalted, so wills—the interpretation of the “signs” as the Imams (peace be upon them) by way of narration at the end of the surah, in His saying, “Say: Consider what is it that is in the heavens and the earth” (the verse).

(Quran 10:9-11, M. H. Shakir)

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them by their faith; there shall flow from beneath them rivers in gardens of bliss. Their cry therein shall be: Glory to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting therein shall be: Peace. And the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. And were Allah to hasten on the evil to men as they desire the hastening on of good, surely their doom would have been decreed for them; therefore We leave those who do not hope in Our meeting in their inordinacy, blindly wandering.

Ibn Babawayh said: ‘Ali ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Warraq, Muhammad ibn Ahmad as-Sinani, and ‘Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad (may Allah be pleased with them) told us, saying: Abu al-‘Abbas Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Zakariyya al-Qattan narrated to us, who said: Bakr ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Habib narrated to us, who said: Tamim ibn Buhlul narrated to us, from his father, from Ja‘far ibn Sulayman al-Basri, from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Fadl al-Hashimi, who said: I asked Abu ‘Abd Allah Ja‘far ibn Muhammad (peace be upon them) about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the (rightly) guided one, and whom He causes to err, you shall not find for him a guiding friend.”

(Quran 18:17, M. H. Shakir)

He said: “Surely Allah, Blessed and Exalted, averts the wrongdoers on the Day of Resurrection from His abode of honor, and He guides the people of faith and righteous deeds to His Garden, as He, Mighty and Majestic, said: ‘And Allah leads astray the unjust, and Allah does what He pleases’—and He, Mighty and Majestic, said: ‘Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them by their faith; there shall flow from beneath them rivers in gardens of bliss.’”

(Quran 14:27, M. H. Shakir)

Then Allah leads astray the unjust and Allah does what He pleases.

(Quran 10:9, M. H. Shakir)

Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, their Lord will guide them by their faith; there shall flow from beneath them rivers in gardens of bliss.

Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Mahbub, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Madani, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) was asked about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: ‘On the day that We will gather the dutiful to the Beneficent God, (as) the guests of honor.’ He said: ‘O ‘Ali, the guests are only riders. Those are men who were Godwary, so Allah—exalted is His remembrance—loved them, chose them, and was pleased with their deeds, so He named them “the Godwary.” Then he said to him: O ‘Ali, by Him who split the grain and created the soul, they will indeed come forth from their graves, and the angels will meet them with she-camels from the she-camels of the Garden. Upon them are saddles of gold, adorned with pearls and rubies; their housings are brocade and fine silk, and their bridles are cords of purple. They will fly with them to the place of gathering, with a thousand angels with each man—before him and on his right.’”

(Quran 19:85, M. H. Shakir)

On the day that We will gather the dutiful to the Beneficent God, (as) the guests of honor.

I said: “From fire, so for that reason it became hotter than the moon.” I said, “May I be your ransom, and the moon?” He said: “Surely Allah—exalted be His remembrance—created the moon from the radiance of the light of fire and the purest of water: a layer from this and a layer from that, until, when it was seven layers, He clothed it with a garment of water; thus the moon became cooler than the sun.” Ibn Babawayh narrated this hadith in al-Khisal: from Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Muhammad ibn Ahmad, from ‘Isa ibn Muhammad, from ‘Ali ibn Mahziyar, from Abu Ayyub, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, who said: I said to Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), and he mentioned the hadith.
