The mother of Wahb and the wife of Wahb were among the women at the true House of Allah.
And as for the women who performed Hajj with this true House of Allah, one of them was the mother of Wahb.
She had only recently entered Islam from Christianity.
She entered into ihraam for the Hajj of this exalted House, and stood at the mash'ar of awareness and understanding.
She realized that supporting al-Imam Husain (a.s.) and commanding support for him was obligatory, and that he was the House of Allah to whom offerings (hadiya) must be brought.
So she presented her offering.
She came to her son Wahb and said:
“O my son, rise and support the son of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.).”
He replied:
“I shall do so, mother, and I will not fall short.”
Then he went forth to battle and recited verses of valor.
He killed seventeen horsemen and twelve foot soldiers.
Then he returned to his mother and wife and said:
“O mother, are you pleased with me?”
She replied:
“No, not until you are martyred before

the son of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.), so that he may intercede for you on the Day of Resurrection.
Therefore return, my son, to the battle.”
After her offering had been martyred, she performed ramee al-jamaraat against the enemies in a manner that no one had ever performed such a stoning. [1277]
Another was the wife of Wahb.
At first she did not recognize this exalted House and had not entered into ihraam for it.
Rather, she tried to prevent her husband and said:
“Do not afflict me with your death.”
His mother said:
“Beware! Do not listen to this woman.”
But afterwards she witnessed a state and condition in that noble Imam (a.s.) which transformed her.
She entered into ihraam and called out to her husband:
“Fight before the Pure Ones!”
She circumambulated (tawaaf) the House of Allah and hastened (haroolah) toward the battlefield until a servant of the accursed Shimr killed her.
She spent three nights in Mina (baytootah), but it is not known whether her head was severed from her body and carried away or not. [1278]
Another was the woman whose husband had been killed on that day.
She sent her son to the battlefield.
The Imam (a.s.) said:
“This youth’s father has been killed in the battle. Send him back, for perhaps his mother dislikes his going.”
The youth replied:
“My master, it was my mother who commanded me and said:
‘Rise, my son, and fight before the son of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.).’”
Thus she presented him as an offering (hadiya) and sacrifice.
When he was martyred, they severed his head and threw it toward his mother.
She took it, kissed it, and then threw it back toward them. [1279]
And another was the woman in whom the reality of the Husaini Hajj was realized in a manner that was never realized in anyone else and never will be.
That noble lady was Sayyidah Zaynab (a.s.).
The explanation of that Hajj, its rites, and its ihraam belongs to another discussion.
