Ar-Ra'd Ayah 22
Qur’an 13:22 — And those who are constant, seeking the pleasure of their Lord, and keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them secretly and openly and repel evil with good; as for those, they shall have the (happy) issue of the abode.

They “repel evil with good” means: they ward it off.

He said: My father narrated to me, from Hammad, from Abu Basir, from Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said to Ali (peace be upon him): O Ali, no house in which there is joy is without sorrow following it, and there is no worry but that it has relief—except the worry of the people of the Fire. So when you commit an evil deed, follow it with a good deed; it will erase it quickly. And you must adhere to acts of goodness, for they repel the calamities of evil. The Messenger (may Allah bless him and his family) only said this to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) by way of disciplining the people, not because the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) had sins he committed.

He said: My father narrated to me, from al-Nadr ibn Suwayd, from Muhammad ibn Qays, from Abu Sayyar, from Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: One day the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) approached, placing his hand on the shoulder of al-‘Abbas. The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) met him, so the Messenger of Allah embraced him and kissed the space between his eyes. Then al-‘Abbas greeted Ali (peace be upon him), and he returned his greeting with a light response [1]. Al-‘Abbas became angry and said: O Messenger of Allah, Ali does not abandon his pride. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said: O ‘Abbas, do not say that about Ali, for I have just met Jibril, and he said to me: The two angels entrusted with Ali met me just now and said: We have not recorded against him a single sin from the day he was born until this day.
Qur’an 13:23 — Gardens of perpetual abode which they will enter along with those who do good from among their fathers and their spouses and their offspring; and the angels will enter in upon them from every gate.
