Al-Hijr Ayah 22-23
الحجر آيه 22
And We send the winds fertilizing, then We cause water to descend from the cloud, then We give it to you to drink, and you are not the custodians of it. (Quran 15:22, M. H. Shakir)
قال: قال رسولُ اللهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله): لا تُشيروا إلى المطرِ، ولا إلى الهلالِ، فإنَّ اللهَ يَكرهُ ذلك».
Do not point at the rain or at the new moon, for Allah dislikes that.
وروى ذلك الحِمْيَرِيُّ في (قُرْبِ الإِسْنَادِ) بإسنادِه، عن مَسْعَدَةَ بنِ صَدَقَةَ، عن أبي عبدِ اللهِ (عليه السلام) [1].
Al-Himyari narrated this in Qurb al-Isnad with his chain, from Mas‘adah ibn Sadaqah, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him). [1]
99-/5826 _5- ابنُ بابَوَيْهِ، قال: حدّثنا جعفرُ بنُ محمدِ بنِ مَسرورٍ (رحمه الله)، قال: حدّثنا الحسينُ بنُ محمدِ بنِ عامرٍ، عن عمّهِ عبدِ اللهِ بنِ عامرٍ [2]، عن الحسنِ بنِ محبوبٍ، عن مقاتلِ بنِ سُلَيْمانَ، قال: قال أبو عبدِ اللهِ الصادقُ (عليه السلام): «لمّا صعدَ موسى (عليه السلام) الطورَ، فنادى ربَّهُ عزّ وجلّ، قال: ربِّ أرِني خزائنَكَ قال: يا موسى: إنّما خزائنِي إذا أردتُ شيئاً أن أقولَ له: كُنْ، فيكونُ».
99-/5826: Ibn Bābawayh said: Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn Masrūr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated to us; he said: al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Āmir, from his uncle ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Āmir [2], from al-Hasan ibn Mahbūb, from Muqātil ibn Sulaymān, who said: Abu ‘Abdillah al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: When Moses (peace be upon him) ascended the Mount and called upon his Lord, Mighty and Majestic, he said: My Lord, show me Your treasuries. He said: O Moses, My treasuries, when I desire a thing, are only that I say to it “Be!” and it is.
قوله تعالى:
وَأَرْسَلْنَا الرِّياحَ لَوَاقِحَ [22]
And We send the winds fertilizing. (Quran 15:22, M. H. Shakir)
/5827 _1- عليُّ بنُ إبراهيم، قال: التي تُلْقِحُ الأشجار.
5827: ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm said: Those which fertilize the trees.
99-/5828 _2- محمدُ بنُ يعقوبَ: عن محمدِ بنِ يحيى، عن أحمدَ بنِ محمدِ بنِ عيسى، عن الحسنِ بنِ محبوبٍ، عن عليِّ بنِ رِئابٍ، وهشامِ بنِ سالمٍ، عن أبي بصيرٍ، عن أبي جعفرٍ (عليه السلام) حين سأله عنِ الرِّياحِ، قال: «ولله عزّ ذكرُهُ رياحُ رحمةٍ لواقحُ وغيرُ ذلك، ينشرُها بين يدي رحمته، منها ما يُهَيِّجُ السَّحابَ للمطرِ، ومنها رياحٌ تحبسُ السَّحابَ بين السماءِ والأرضِ، ورياحٌ تعصرُ السَّحابَ فتمطرُهُ بإذنِ اللهِ».
99-/5828: Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub: from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa, from al-Hasan ibn Mahbūb, from ‘Ali ibn Ri’ab and Hisham ibn Salim, from Abu Basir, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), when he asked him about the winds. He said: Allah, Mighty in remembrance, has winds of mercy that are fertilizing and others besides that; He spreads them before His mercy. Among them are those that stir up the clouds for rain; among them are winds that hold the clouds between heaven and earth; and winds that compress the clouds so they pour rain by Allah’s permission.
99-/5829 _3- العيّاشيُّ: عن ابنِ وكيعٍ، عن رجلٍ، عن أميرِ المؤمنينَ (عليه السلام) قال: «قال رسولُ اللهِ (صلى الله عليه وآله): لا تسبُّوا الرِّيحَ، فإنّها بُشْرٌ [3]، وإنّها نُذُرٌ، وإنّها لَوَاقِحُ، فاسألوا اللهَ من خيرِها، وتعوّذوا بهِ من شرِّها».
99-/5829: Al-‘Ayyashi: from Ibn Waki‘, from a man, from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Do not curse the wind, for it is a bearer of glad tidings, and it is a warner, and it is fertilizing. So ask Allah for its good and seek refuge in Him from its evil.
99-/5830 _4- عن أبي بصيرٍ، عن أبي جعفرٍ (عليه السلام) قال: «لله رياحُ رحمةٍ لواقحُ، ينشرُها بين يدي رحمتهِ».
99-/5830: From Abu Basir, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: Allah has winds of mercy that are fertilizing; He spreads them before His mercy.

Then We send down water from the cloud, then We give it to you to drink, and you are not the custodians of it. And most surely We bring to life and cause to die and We are the heirs. (Quran 15:22-23, M. H. Shakir)
/5831 _1- عليُّ بنُ إبراهيم: في قوله تعالى: فَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً فَأَسْقَيْناكُمُوهُ وَما أنتم له بخازنين أي لا تقدرون أن تخزنوه: وَإِنّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْيي ونميتُ ونحنُ الوارثونَ أي نَرِثُ الأرضَ ومَن عليها.
5831: ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm, regarding His saying: Then We send down water from the cloud, then We give it to you to drink, and you are not the custodians of it—meaning, you are not able to store it; and: And most surely We bring to life and cause to die and We are the heirs—meaning, We inherit the earth and whoever is upon it.
قوله تعالى:
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا المُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا المُسْتَأْخِرِينَ [24]
And certainly We know those of you who have gone before and We certainly know those who shall come later. (Quran 15:24, M. H. Shakir)
99-/5832 _2- العيّاشيُّ: عن جابرٍ، عن أبي جعفرٍ (عليه السلام) قال: وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا المُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا المُسْتَأْخِرِينَ، قال: «همُ المؤمنونَ من هذه الأمةِ».
99-/5832: Al-‘Ayyashi: from Jabir, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said, regarding: And certainly We know those of you who have gone before and We certainly know those who shall come later: They are the believers from this Ummah.
99-/5833 _3- الشَّيبانيُّ في (نَهْجِ البَيانِ) قال: رُويَ عن الصادقِ (عليه السلام): «أنَّ المُستقدِمينَ أصحابُ الحسناتِ، والمُستأخِرينَ أصحابُ السيِّئاتِ».
99-/5833: Al-Shaybānī in Nahj al-Bayān said: It is narrated from al-Sadiq (peace be upon him): The ones who go ahead are the people of good deeds, and the ones who lag behind are the people of evil deeds.
قوله تعالى:
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنسانَ مِن صَلصالٍ مِن حَمإٍ مَسنونٍ [26]
And certainly We created man of clay (formed) from black mud fashioned into shape. (Quran 15:26, M. H. Shakir)
/5834 _4- عليُّ بنُ إبراهيم: وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنسانَ مِن صَلصالٍ قال: الماءُ المُتَصَلْصِلُ بالطينِ: مِن حَمإٍ مَسنونٍ قال: حَمَأٌ متغيِّرٌ.
5834: ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm: And certainly We created man of clay—he said: water blended with clay; from black mud fashioned into shape—he said: altered mud.
