In regard to the establishment of the special qualities of Surah al-Hamd and Bismillah for that noble Imam (a.s.)
In regard to the establishment of the special qualities of Surah al-Hamd and Bismillah for that noble Imam (a.s.)
The fourth objective: Concerning the establishment of the special qualities of Surah al-Hamd and Bismillah for al-Imam Husain (a.s.).
Thus we say:
Surah al-Hamd is Umm al-Kitaab (the Mother of the Book), and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is the father of the pure Imams (abu al-Aimmah al-Atyaab). [1073]
Surah al-Hamd is the treasure of obedience, and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is the means of intercession (Shafaa'a). [1074]
Surah al-Hamd is al-Waafiyah (the complete and sufficient one), and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is complete in the means of forgiveness.
Surah al-Hamd is al-Shaafeyah (the healing one), and the soil of al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is a cure. [1075]
And his blood was a cure, as is well known in the incident of the Jewish girl. [1076]
And the tears shed for him are a cure, for they extinguish both inward and outward fires. If a single drop of such tears were to fall into Hell, it would extinguish its heat, as has been mentioned in a hadith. [1077]
Surah al-Hamd is al-Kaafiyyah (the sufficient one), and the love of al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is sufficient.
Surah al-Hamd is equal to the Qur'an, and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is the companion and equal of the Qur'an in the trust left behind by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.).
Surah al-Hamd is al-Sab'a al-Mathaani because it consists of seven verses and was revealed twice.
And al-Imam Husain (a.s.) possesses a special characteristic: he descended from heaven twice and ascended twice.
His soul descended at the time of his birth and ascended at the time of his death, just like the rest of the Imams (a.s.) and the Prophets (a.s.).
And the body of that noble Imam (a.s.) was raised up and then brought down again. This was among his unique characteristics.
As it is narrated that when he was martyred, and his blessed head was raised upon a spear and taken to Kufah, the angels descended and carried that noble body, in the same condition, to the fifth heaven.
They kept it there in the form of ʿAli (a.s.), and the inhabitants of the heavens looked upon it while it was covered with blood. They then cursed his killers.
After that, they returned him
to his place in Karbala. [1078]
In these matters there are hidden wisdoms whose true reality our understanding cannot fully comprehend, and Allah knows best concerning them.
Whoever recites Surah al-Hamd and believes in its outward and inward meanings, Allah grants him, for every letter, a good deed (hasanah) which is superior to the whole world. [1079]
Likewise, whoever remembers al-Imam Husain (a.s.) and weeps for him, Allah grants him, for every tear, a good deed that is better than the world and all that it contains.
And whoever visits him, Allah grants him, for every letter, a good deed that is superior to the whole world. [1080]
Bismillah is the title and beginning of every surah, and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is the title of the martyrs and their master.
Bismillah occurs at the beginning of one hundred and fourteen places in the Qur'an, and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) possesses one hundred and fourteen things, all of which are means of forgiveness.
Bismillah is mentioned at the time of slaughtering and sacrifice [1081] as a legal obligation.
And al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is remembered at the time of slaughtering, sacrifice, and killing because his killing and sacrifice were more severe than every other killing and sacrifice, as has been mentioned in a Prophetic hadith. [1082]
