Translation (Qur’an 3:35-42, M. H. Shakir, for the cited parts):
“(Remember) when a woman of Imran said: My Lord! surely I vow to Thee what is in my womb, to be devoted (to Thy service); accept therefore from me, surely Thou art the Hearing, the Knowing. … and Allah has chosen you above the women of the world.”

Muhammad b. Ya‘qub, from al-Husayn b. Muhammad, from Mu‘alla b. Muhammad, from al‑Washa’, from Aban b. ‘Uthman, from Isma‘il al‑Ju‘fi, said: I said to Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him): Al‑Mughira b. Sa‘id has narrated from you that you told him: “The menstruating woman must make up the prayer.” He said: “What is wrong with him? May Allah not grant him success. The woman of Imran vowed what was in her womb to be devoted, and the devoted one is for the mosque: he enters it and then never leaves it. So when she gave birth to her, she said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and Allah best knows what she brought forth, and the male is not like the female.’ When she bore her, she brought her into the mosque, and the prophets drew lots over her; the lot fell to Zakariyya, so Zakariyya became her guardian. She did not leave the mosque until she came of age, and when she attained what women attain, she went out. Was she, then, able to make up those days during which she went out, while it was incumbent upon her to be in the mosque all her life?”

Translation:
‘Ali b. Ibrahim said: My father narrated to me, from al‑Hasan b. Mahbub, from ‘Ali b. Ri’ab, from Abu Basir, from Abu ‘Abdullah (peace be upon him), who said: “If we say to you something about one of our men and it is not in him but is in his child or his child’s child, then do not deny that. Allah revealed to ‘Imran: ‘I am granting you a blessed male who heals the blind and the leprous, gives life to the dead by My permission, and I shall make him a messenger to the Children of Israel.’ He informed his wife Hannah, Maryam’s mother. When she conceived her, she thought her pregnancy to be a male boy; when she delivered her as a female, she said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and the male is not like the female,’ because a girl is not a messenger. Allah says: ‘And Allah best knows what she brought forth.’ When Allah granted Maryam ‘Isa (peace be upon him), he was the one whom Allah had given glad tidings of to ‘Imran and promised him. So if we tell you something concerning one of our men, and it turns out to be in his child or his child’s child, then do not deny that. When Maryam came of age, she remained in the sanctuary, drew a veil over herself, and no one saw her. Zakariyya would enter upon her in the sanctuary and find with her summer fruit in winter and winter fruit in summer. He would say: ‘Whence is this for you?’ She would say: ‘It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.’ Thereupon Zakariyya prayed to his Lord: ‘My Lord! Grant me from Thee good offspring; surely Thou art the Hearer of prayer.’ Then the angels called to him while he stood praying in the sanctuary: ‘Allah gives you good news of Yahya, verifying a word from Allah, and a chief, and chaste, and a prophet from among the good.’ The chaste (hasur) is he who does not come to women. He said: ‘My Lord! How shall I have a boy, and old age has already overtaken me, and my wife is barren’—and ‘barren’ is she who has despaired of menses. ‘Even thus does Allah do what He pleases.’ Zakariyya said: ‘My Lord! Make for me a sign.’ He said: ‘Your sign is that you shall not speak to the people for three days except by gesture.’ This was because Zakariyya suspected that those who gave him the glad tidings were devils, so he said: ‘My Lord! Make for me a sign.’ He said: ‘Your sign is that you shall not speak to people for three days except by gesture,’ so he was rendered mute for three days.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):

He said: My Lord! when shall there be a son (born) to me, and old age has already come upon me, and my wife is barren. He said: Even thus does Allah do what He pleases.

‘Ali b. Ibrahim, regarding His saying: “O Mary! surely Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds,” said: He chose her twice: the first is that He chose her, meaning He selected her; the second is that she conceived without a male, so He chose her by that above the women of the worlds.

The Shaykh in his Amali said: A group informed us, from Abu al‑Mufaddal, who said: ‘Abd al‑Razzaq b. Sulayman b. Ghalib al‑Azdi at Artaj narrated to us, saying: Abu ‘Abd al‑Ghani al‑Hasan b. ‘Ali al‑Azdi al‑Ma‘ani narrated to us: ‘Abd al‑Razzaq b. Hammam al‑Himyari narrated to us: Ja‘far b. Sulayman al‑Dub‘i al‑Basri—who had come to us from Yemen—narrated to us: Abu Harun al‑‘Abdi, from Rabi‘a al‑Sa‘di, who said: Hudhayfa b. al‑Yaman narrated to me: When Ja‘far b. Abi Talib left the land of Abyssinia for the Prophet (blessings be upon him and his family), Ja‘far (may Allah have mercy on him) arrived while the Prophet (peace be upon him) was in the land of Khaybar. He brought him a cup of the perfume (al‑ghaliyah) and a brocade. The Prophet (blessings be upon him and his family) said: “I shall surely give this brocade to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love.” The Prophet’s companions stretched their necks toward it. The Prophet said: “Where is ‘Ali?” ‘Ammar b. Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) sprang up and called ‘Ali (peace be upon him). When he came, the Prophet said to him: “O ‘Ali, take this brocade for yourself.” ‘Ali (peace be upon him) took it and, when they had reached Madinah, he went to al‑Baqi‘—the market of Madinah—ordered a goldsmith to unravel the brocade strand by strand, sold the gold—one thousand mithqals—and distributed it among the poor of the Muhajirun and the Ansar. He then returned home, leaving none of the gold, little or much. The next day the Prophet met him with a group that included Hudhayfa and ‘Ammar, and said: “O ‘Ali, you took a thousand mithqals yesterday; make my lunch today—and these my companions—at your house.” ‘Ali (peace be upon him) had not returned that day to any goods of gold or silver. Out of modesty and generosity he said: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah; you are welcome and there is ample room. Enter, O Prophet of Allah, you and those with you.” The Prophet entered, then said to us, “Enter.” Hudhayfa said: We were five: I, ‘Ammar, Salman, Abu Dharr, and al‑Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with them). We entered. ‘Ali (peace be upon him) went in to Fatimah (peace be upon them) seeking some provisions. He found in the middle of the house a steaming bowl of tharid with much meat on the bones, and its fragrance was as of musk. ‘Ali (peace be upon him) carried it and set it before the Messenger of Allah (blessings be upon him and his family) and those present with him. We ate from it until we were filled, yet it diminished neither a little nor much. The Prophet rose and went in to Fatimah (peace be upon her) and said: “From where is this for you, O Fatimah?” She replied—and we heard their words—“It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.” The Prophet (blessings be upon him and his family) came out with tears in his eyes, saying: “Praise be to Allah who did not cause me to die until I saw for my daughter what Zakariyya saw for Maryam. Whenever he entered the sanctuary to her, he found provision with her and said: ‘O Mary! Whence is this for you?’ She said: ‘It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.’” I say: There is much more of this, which we have omitted for fear of length.
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):

Al‑‘Ayyashi, from Isma‘il al‑Ju‘fi, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), said: He said: “When the woman of ‘Imran vowed what was in her womb as devoted—meaning, the devoted is for the mosque; when one is born so, he enters the mosque and never leaves—it was that when she gave birth to Maryam, she said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and Allah best knows what she brought forth, and the male is not like the female; and surely I have named her Maryam, and surely I seek refuge for her and her offspring with You from the accursed Satan.’ The prophets cast lots over her, and the lot fell to Zakariyya, who was her sister’s husband, and he became her guardian and brought her into the mosque. When she attained what women attain of menstruation—and she was the most beautiful of women—she would pray, and the sanctuary would shine with her light. Zakariyya entered upon her and found with her winter fruit in summer and summer fruit in winter; he said: ‘Whence is this for you?’ She said: ‘It is from Allah.’ Thereupon Zakariyya prayed to his Lord, saying: ‘Surely I fear my relatives after me…’ up to what Allah mentioned of the story of Yahya and Zakariyya.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):
My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female—And Allah knew best what she brought forth—and the male is not like the female, and I have named it Marium, and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan.

From Jabir, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: I heard him say: “Allah revealed to ‘Imran: ‘I am granting you a blessed male who heals the blind and the leprous and gives life to the dead by Allah’s permission, and (he will be) a messenger to the Children of Israel.’ He informed his wife Hannah of that. She conceived and bore Maryam, and said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and the female is not a messenger.’ ‘Imran said to her: ‘It is a male who will be (born) from her—a prophet.’ When she saw that, she said what she said, and Allah—whose word is truth—said: ‘And Allah best knows what she brought forth.’” Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) said: “That was ‘Isa son of Maryam (peace be upon him). So if we say to you that the matter is in one of us, and it occurs in his son, or his son’s son, or his son’s son’s son, then it has indeed occurred therein; do not deny that.”
Qur’anic citation (M. H. Shakir):

From Sayf, from Najm, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “Fatimah (peace be upon her) undertook for ‘Ali (peace be upon him) the housework, kneading, baking, and sweeping the house; and ‘Ali (peace be upon him) undertook for her what was outside the door: carrying firewood and bringing food. He said to her one day: ‘O Fatimah, do you have anything (to eat)?’ She said: ‘No—by Him who has magnified your right over me—we have had nothing to offer you for three days.’ He said: ‘Why did you not inform me?’ She said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (blessings be upon him and his family) forbade me to ask you for anything; he said: Do not ask your cousin for anything; if something comes to you freely, then (take it), otherwise do not ask him.’ He went out (peace be upon him). He met a man and borrowed a dinar from him, then returned with it toward evening. He met al‑Miqdad b. al‑Aswad and said to him: ‘What brought you out at this hour?’ He said: ‘Hunger—by Him who has magnified your right, O Commander of the Faithful.’ I said to Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him): While the Messenger of Allah was alive? He said: While the Messenger of Allah was alive. He (‘Ali) said: ‘It is he who brought me out. I have borrowed a dinar, and I will prefer you with it.’ He gave it to him, then returned and found the Messenger of Allah sitting, and Fatimah praying, and between them was something covered. When she finished, she brought that thing forth, and behold, it was a bowl of bread and meat. He said: ‘O Fatimah, from where is this for you?’ She said: ‘It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.’ The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Shall I not tell you your likeness and hers? It is the likeness of Zakariyya when he entered the sanctuary to Mary and found provision with her. He said: O Mary! whence is this for you? She said: It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.’ They ate from it for a month, and it is the very bowl from which the Qa’im (peace be upon him) will eat; it is with us.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):
O Mary! whence comes this to you? She said: It is from Allah; surely Allah gives sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.

From Isma‘il b. ‘Abd al‑Rahman al‑Ju‘fi, who said: I said to Abu ‘Abdullah (peace be upon him): Al‑Mughira claims that a menstruating woman must make up the prayer just as she makes up the fast. He said: “What is wrong with him! May Allah not grant him success. The woman of ‘Imran vowed what was in her womb as devoted, and the devoted is for the mosque and never leaves it. When she bore Maryam, she said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and Allah best knows what she brought forth, and the male is not like the female.’ When she bore her, she brought her into the mosque; when she reached the age of women, she was taken out of the mosque. How could she have found days to make up, while it was incumbent upon her to be in the mosque all her life?”
Qur’anic citation (M. H. Shakir):

When his tongue was restrained and he did not speak, he knew that none could do that except Allah. And that is Allah’s word: ‘My Lord! From al‑Hakam b. ‘Uyaynah, who said: I asked Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) about Allah’s word in the Book: “And when the angels said: O Mary! surely Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.” He chose her twice, while choosing is only once? He said to me: “O Hakam, this has an interpretation and an explanation.” I said to him: Explain it to us—may Allah preserve you. He said: “It means He first chose her from the progeny of the chosen and sent prophets, and He purified her from there being any fornication in the births among her fathers and mothers, and He chose her with this in the Qur’an: ‘O Mary! keep to obedience to your Lord and humble yourself and bow down’—as gratitude to Allah. Then He said to His Prophet Muhammad (blessings be upon him and his family), informing him of what was hidden from him about Mary and ‘Isa: ‘O Muhammad! This is of the announcements of the unseen which We reveal to you’ concerning Mary and her son and what Allah has specified them with, favored them, and honored them, where He said: ‘And you were not with them, O Muhammad’—meaning, by the Lord of the angels—‘when they cast their pens (to decide) which of them should have Mary in his charge’ when she was orphaned of her father.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):
O Mary! surely Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the world.
O Mary! keep to obedience to your Lord and humble yourself, and bow down with those who bow down.

And in the narration of Ibn Khurrazad: “‘Which of them should have Mary in his charge’ when she was orphaned of her parents; and ‘you were not with them, O Muhammad, when they contended’ concerning Mary at her bearing ‘Isa: which of them should have charge of her and her child.” He said: I said to him: May Allah preserve you—who became her guardian? He said: “Do you not hear His saying: ‘And Zakariyya became her guardian’—the verse.” And ‘Ali b. Mahziyar added in his narration: “So when she bore her, she said: ‘My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female, and Allah best knows what she brought forth, and the male is not like the female; and surely I have named her Maryam, and surely I seek refuge for her and her offspring with You from the accursed Satan.’” I said: Did Maryam experience what women experience of menstruation? He said: “Yes; she was but a woman from among women.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):
And Zakariya took her under his guardianship.
My Lord! Surely I have brought it forth a female… and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan.

Translation:
And in another narration: “‘When they cast their pens (to decide) which of them should have Mary in his charge’—he said: “They cast lots over her and the lot fell to Zakariyya, and he became her guardian.” Zayd b. Rikanah said: They disputed about the daughter of Hamzah just as they disputed about Maryam. I said to him: May I be your ransom! Hamzah set the practice and the example—that as they disputed over Maryam, they disputed over the daughter of Hamzah? He said: “Yes.” And “(He) has chosen you above the women of the worlds”—he said: “The women of her two worlds; and Fatimah (peace be upon her) was the mistress of the women of the worlds.”
Qur’anic citations (M. H. Shakir):
When they cast their pens (to decide) which of them should have Mary in his charge.
And chosen you above the women of the world.
