99-/1- Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub: from Ahmad ibn Mihrān, from Muhammad ibn ʿAlī, from Abū al-Hakam al-Armanī, who said: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Jaʿfar ibn Abī Ṭālib narrated to me, from Yazīd ibn Ṣalīṭ al-Zaydī. Abū al-Hakam said: And ʿAbd Allāh ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿUmārah al-Jarmī also informed me, from Yazīd ibn Ṣalīṭ, from Imam al-Kāẓim (peace be upon him)—in a long narration in which he mentioned the explicit designation and indication concerning Abū al-Ḥasan al-Riḍā (peace be upon him)—that he said: “O Yazīd, it is a trust with you, so do not inform of it except one who is intelligent, or a servant whom you know to be truthful. And if you are asked for testimony, then bear witness to it. This is the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: ‘Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners’ [1]; and He also said to us: ‘And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony that he has from Allah.’”

99-/2- (Irshād al-Qulūb) In the report of Ḥudhayfa ibn al-Yamān—in a long narration in which he mentions the state of the hypocrites after the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) delivered the sermon at Ghadir Khumm on his return from the Farewell Pilgrimage—he said: When the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) intended to depart, they came to him. He said to them, “What was it that you were whispering about on this day of yours, when I forbade you from secret counsel?” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we did not meet except at this time of ours.” The Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) looked at them for a while, then said to them, “Are you more knowing, or is Allah? ‘And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony that he has from Allah? And Allah is not at all heedless of what you do.’”

Qur'an 2:154 — M. H. Shakir: And do not speak of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead; nay, (they are) alive, but you do not perceive.

99-/3- Muhammad ibn Yaʿqub: from Muhammad ibn Yaḥyā, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ʿĪsā, from Muhammad ibn Khālid, from al-Qāsim ibn Muhammad, from al-Ḥusayn ibn Ahmad, from Yūnus ibn Ẓabiyān, who said: I was with Abū ʿAbd Allāh (peace be upon him), and he said, “What do the people say about the spirits of the believers?” I said, “They say: They are in the crops of green birds, in lamps beneath the Throne.” Abū ʿAbd Allāh (peace be upon him) said, “Glory be to Allah! The believer is more honored by Allah than that He would place his spirit in the crop of a bird. O Yūnus, when that happens, Muhammad (may Allah bless him and his family), and Ali, and Fatimah, and al-Hasan, and al-Husayn (peace be upon them), and the angels brought near (peace be upon them) come to him,...”
