99-/12043 Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from Ahmad ibn Bakr ibn Salih, from Sulayman al-Ja‘fari, from Abu al-Hasan (peace be upon him), who said: I heard him say: "There is no one, while still in the age of childhood, who makes a habit every night of reciting (Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak) and (Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind)—each three times—and (Say: He, Allah, is One) a hundred times, or if he is unable, then fifty times, except that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will turn away from him every minor affliction or condition from among the ailments of children, thirst, and stomach corruption. And the blood will continue to circulate properly as long as he persists in this practice until he reaches gray hair. And if he continues it himself, or it is maintained for him, he will be protected until the day Allah, Mighty and Majestic, seizes his soul."
99-/12044 Shaykh (in al-Tahdhib), through his chain of transmission, from al-Husayn ibn Sa‘id, from Ya‘qub ibn Yaqtin, who said: I asked the Righteous Servant (peace be upon him) about the recitation in Witr (the odd prayer), and I said: Some have narrated (Say: He, Allah, is One) in all three [rak‘ahs], and others have narrated [reciting] the two chapters of seeking refuge (al-Mu‘awwidhatayn) in the first two, and (Say: He, Allah, is One) in the third? He said: "I act upon [reciting] al-Mu‘awwidhatayn and (Say: He, Allah, is One)."

99-/12045 _3- Ibn Bābawayh: From his father, he said: Aḥmad ibn Idrīs narrated to me, from Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥassān, from Ismāʿīl ibn Mihrān, from al-Ḥasan, from al-Ḥusayn ibn Abī al-ʿAlāʾ, from Abū ʿUbaydah al-Ḥadhdhāʾ, from Abū Jaʿfar (peace be upon him), he said: "Whoever performs the witr prayer with al-Muʿawwidhatayn and 'Say: He, Allah, is One' [Surah al-Ikhlāṣ, 112:1], it will be said to him: O servant of Allah, rejoice, for indeed Allah has accepted your witr."
