Al-Mustadrak (Surah Al-Hajj)
Qur’an 22:10 (M. H. Shakir): That is for what your two hands have sent before, and that Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants.
99-1- Al-Tabrisi in (al-Ihtijaj), transmitting up to Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him) in a hadith: He (peace be upon him) said: As for compulsion (al-jabr): it is the statement of one who claims that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has compelled the servants to commit sins and then punishes them for them; and whoever says this has wronged Allah and belied Him, and has rejected His saying: “And your Lord does not wrong anyone” (Qur’an 18:49, M. H. Shakir), and His exalted saying: “That is for what your two hands have sent before, and that Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants” (Qur’an 22:10, M. H. Shakir). So whoever claims that he is compelled to commit sins has ascribed his sin to Allah and wronged Him with respect to His Majesty; and whoever wrongs his Lord has belied His Book; and whoever belies His Book, unbelief becomes incumbent upon him by the consensus of the Ummah.
Qur’an 22:13 (M. H. Shakir): Certainly evil is the guardian and certainly evil is the associate.
99-2- In the book (Misbah al-Shari‘ah): al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The best admonition is that in which speech does not overstep the limit of truth and action does not overstep the limit of sincerity. For the likeness of the admonisher and the one admonished is like the wakeful and the sleeper. So whoever awakens from his slumber, his heedlessness, his contravention, and his sins, is fit to awaken someone else from that slumber. But as for one who travels through the deserts of aggression, plunges into the pastures of error, and abandons modesty, loving reputation and ostentation, notoriety and affectation among people, donning the garb of the righteous, displaying by his words the construction of—
