S 55 Ayat 31

قوله تعالى:

سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلاٰنِ [31]

We will apply ourselves to you, O you two classes (of jinn and men).

99-/10325 _3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى،عَنْ يُونُسَ،عَنْ هَارُونَ ابْنِ خَارِجَةَ،عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) ،فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلاٰنِ ، قَالَ:«الثَّقَلاَنِ:نَحْنُ وَ الْقُرْآنُ».

99-/10325 Muḥammad ibn al-ʿAbbās said: al-Ḥusayn ibn Aḥmad narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn ʿĪsā, from Yūnus, from Hārūn ibn Khārijah, from Yaʿqūb ibn Shuʿayb, from Abū ʿAbdillāh (peace be upon him), regarding the saying of the Almighty: "Soon shall We attend to you, O two big classes!"

He said: “The two weighty things (al-thaqalān) are: we (Ahl al-Bayt), and the Qur’an.”

99-/10326 _4- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هَمَّامٍ،عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ،عَنِ السِّنْدِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ،عَنْ زُرَارَةَ،قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلاٰنِ ،قَالَ:«كِتَابُ اللَّهِ وَ نَحْنُ».

99-/10326 And from him: from Muḥammad ibn Hammām, from ʿAbdullāh ibn Jaʿfar al-Ḥimyarī, from al-Sindī ibn Muḥammad, from Abān ibn ʿUthmān, from Zurārah, who said:

I asked Abā Jaʿfar (peace be upon him) about the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "Soon shall We attend to you, O two big classes!"

He said: “The Book of Allah and we (Ahl al-Bayt).”

99-/10327 _5- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ،عَنْ مُجَاهِدِ بْنِ مُوسَى،عَنِ ابْنِ مَالِكٍ،عَنْ حَجَّامٍ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ،عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ،قَالَ:قَالَ النَّبِيُّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): «إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ،أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الْآخَرِ، كِتَابَ اللَّهِ حَبْلٌ مَمْدُودٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ،وَ عِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي،لَنْ يَفْتَرِقَا حَتَّى يَرِدَا عَلَيَّ الْحَوْضَ».

99-/10327 And from him: from ʿAbdullāh ibn Muḥammad ibn Nājiya, from Mujāhid ibn Mūsā, from Ibn Mālik, from Ḥajjām ibn ʿAṭiyya, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, who said:

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: “Indeed, I am leaving among you the two weighty things (al-thaqalayn): one of them is greater than the other — the Book of Allah, a rope stretched from the heaven to the earth — and my progeny, the people of my household. They shall never separate until they return to me at the Pond (of Kawthar).”

99-/10328 _4- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ،قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلاٰنِ ،قَالَ:قَالَ:«نَحْنُ وَ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ، وَ الدَّلِيلُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ قَوْلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ):إِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمُ الثَّقَلَيْنِ،كِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَ عِتْرَتِي أَهْلَ بَيْتِي».

99-/10328 ʿAlī ibn Ibrāhīm, regarding the statement of the Exalted: “We will soon attend to you, O two weighty ones” (Qur’an, al-Rahman 55:31), said: “We (the Ahl al-Bayt) and the Book of Allah are the two weighty things (al-thaqalayn). The proof for that is the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): ‘Indeed I am leaving among you the two weighty things: the Book of Allah and my progeny, the people of my household.’”
