He said: The Qur’an is the entirety of the Book, and the Furqan is the decisive part that must be acted upon.

99-/1592 (Tafsir al-‘Ayyashi 1:2/9): I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) about the Qur’an and the Furqan. He said: The Qur’an is the totality of the Book and the reports of what will occur, and the Furqan is the decisive part that is acted upon; and every decisive verse is [a] Furqan.

[Qur’an 3:1–4] (M. H. Shakir): Alif Lam Mim. Allah—there is no god but He, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting. He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying what is before it, and He revealed the Taurat and the Injeel Aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He has revealed the Furqan.

99-/1593 (Tafsir al-‘Ayyashi 1:1/162): Regarding the words of Allah, the Exalted: Alif Lam Mim. Allah—there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-subsisting. He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying what is before it, and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel aforetime as a guidance for mankind, and He revealed the Furqan. He said: It is every decisive matter, and the “Book” is the entirety of the Qur’an, in which those prophets who were before him are affirmed [1].

99-/1594 (Majma‘ al-Bayan 2:697): Abu ‘Ali al-Tabrisi said: It is narrated from ‘Abdullah b. Sinan, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), that he said: The Furqan is every decisive verse in the Book, and it is that by which those prophets who were before him are affirmed.

[Qur’an 3:6] (M. H. Shakir): He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He pleases.

/1595 _1- (Tafsir al-Qummi 1:96): Meaning: male and female; black, white, and red; healthy and sick.

[Qur’an 3:7] (M. H. Shakir): He it is Who has revealed the Book to you; some of its verses are decisive, they are the basis of the Book, and others are allegorical; then as for those in whose hearts there is perversity they follow the part of it which is allegorical, seeking to mislead and seeking to give it an interpretation; but none knows its interpretation except Allah; and those who are firmly rooted in knowledge say: We believe in it, it is all from our Lord; and none do mind except those having understanding.
