S 54 Ayat 11 to 19

"So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring down, And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met for a matter already predestined. And We bore him on that (vessel) made of planks and nails, Sailing before Our eyes: a reward for him who was denied. And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who will mind? How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! And certainly We have made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? Ad called; so how (great) was My punishment and My warning! Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck."

/10271 _2 Ali ibn Ibrahim, regarding the verse of Allah: “So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring down”, said: “It was pouring without drops.” As for “And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met”, he said: “The water of the heavens and the water of the earth met.” Concerning “for a matter already predestined”, and “We bore him”, meaning Noah, “on that (vessel) made of planks and nails”.

He said: ذات ألواح (made of planks) refers to the ark, and الدسر (nails) are the nails; and it is also said that الدسر refers to a kind of plant fiber with which the ship was tied together. تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا means: under Our command and protection. And the story of Noah has already been discussed in Surah Hud, so it should be taken from there.

His saying, "وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ" means: We have indeed made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there anyone who will take heed?

His saying, "إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا" means: a cold wind.

And the narration regarding the four winds has already been mentioned in Surah al-Jāthiyah.
