Yunus Ayah 12
English: It is the word of piety; by it Allah will make the scales heavy on the Day of Resurrection. As for His saying: “Allahu Akbar,” it is the highest of words and the most beloved to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. It means that nothing is greater than Me. The prayer is not valid except with it, due to its honor with Allah, and it is the most noble Name. The Jew said: You have spoken the truth, O Muhammad—so what is the reward of the one who says it? He said: When a servant says “Subhanallah,” everything beneath the Throne glorifies along with him, and the one who says it is given ten times its like. And when he says “Alhamdulillah,” Allah grants him the bliss of this world joined to the bliss of the Hereafter; and it is the word the people of Paradise say when they enter it, and the speech they used to say in the world will cease except for “Alhamdulillah”—and that is His saying: “Their cry therein shall be: Glory be to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting therein shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.” As for his saying “La ilaha illa Allah,” its recompense is Paradise, and that is His saying, “Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness?” meaning: Is the reward of “La ilaha illa Allah” anything but Paradise? The Jew said: You have spoken the truth, O Muhammad.
Qur’an 10:10
M. H. Shakir: Their cry therein will be: Glory be to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting therein shall be: Peace; and the last of their cry shall be: Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
Qur’an 55:60
M. H. Shakir: Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness?

English (99-/4851 - Tafsir al-‘Ayyāshī): From Zayd al-Shahhām, from Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him). He said: I asked him about tasbīḥ. He said: “It is a Name from among the Names of Allah, and it is the invocation of the people of Paradise.”

English (99-/4852 - al-Mufīd, al-Ikhtiṣāṣ): With his chain from Ja‘far ibn Muḥammad, from his father, from his grandfather al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon them), from the Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family)—in a long narration with a Jew who had asked him questions—he (blessings be upon him and his family) said: “When the servant says ‘Subḥānallāh,’ everything beneath the Throne glorifies along with him, and the one who says it is given ten times its like. And when he says ‘Al-ḥamdu lillāh,’ Allah bestows on him the bliss of this world until He meets him with the bliss of the Hereafter; and it is the word the people of Paradise say when they enter it, and speech comes to an end in the world except ‘Al-ḥamdu lillāh’; and that is His saying: ‘Their greeting therein shall be: Peace.’”

English (/4853 - ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm): Regarding His saying, “And if Allah should hasten the evil to men as they desire the hastening on of good, their doom would certainly have been decreed for them,” he said: If Allah were to hasten evil for them as they hasten good, their appointed term would be concluded—meaning, their term would be finished. Regarding His saying, “And when affliction touches a man he calls on Us, reclining on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on as though he had never called on Us in affliction,” [10:12].
Qur’an 10:11
M. H. Shakir: And if Allah should hasten the evil to men as they desire the hastening on of good, their doom would certainly have been decreed for them; so We leave those who hope not for Our meeting in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on.
Qur’an 10:12
M. H. Shakir: And when affliction touches a man he calls on Us, reclining on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on as though he had never called on Us in affliction; thus that which they do is made fair seeming to the extravagant.

English (/4854 - ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm): He said regarding “he calls on Us, reclining on his side”: the sick person who is not able to sit; “or sitting”: the one not able to stand; “or standing”: the healthy. And His saying, “but when We remove his affliction from him, he passes on”—that is, he leaves off, goes on, and forgets—“as though he had never called on Us regarding an affliction that touched him.” His saying, “And certainly We destroyed generations before you when they were unjust and their apostles came to them with clear proofs”—up to His saying—“So indeed I have lived among you a lifetime before it; do you not then understand.”
Qur’an 10:13
M. H. Shakir: And certainly We destroyed generations before you when they were unjust, and their apostles had come to them with clear arguments, and they would not believe; thus do We recompense the guilty people.
Qur’an 10:14
M. H. Shakir: Then We made you successors in the land after them so that We may see how you act.
Qur’an 10:15
M. H. Shakir: And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who hope not for Our meeting say: Bring a Quran other than this or change it. Say: It is not for me to change it of myself; I follow nothing but what is revealed to me; surely I fear, if I disobey my Lord, the chastisement of a grievous day.
Qur’an 10:16
M. H. Shakir: Say: If Allah had desired I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you; indeed I have lived a lifetime among you before it; do you not then understand?
99-/4856
English (99-/4856 - ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm, with isnād): ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm said: As for His saying “or change it,” al-Ḥasan b. ‘Alī narrated to me, from his father, from Ḥammād b. ‘Īsā, from Abū al-Safātij, from Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him), regarding Allah’s saying, “Bring a Quran other than this or change it”: “It means the Commander of the Faithful, ‘Alī b. Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him). ‘Say: It is not for me to change it of myself; I follow nothing but what is revealed to me’—meaning, concerning ‘Alī b. Abī Ṭālib, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).”
