The Gifts Granted to the Prophets Through Imam Husain (a.s.)
Third Objective: Concerning that which was granted to the prophets through Imam Husain (a.s.).
Know that two things were granted to the prophets through that noble one (a.s.):
First: That noble one (a.s.) was their exemplar in calamity. Thus, whenever any affliction befell them, they would follow his example in patience, as the meaning of a narration from Amīr al-Muʾminīn (a.s.) indicates. [1446]
Second: Relief and deliverance would come to them whenever they invoked the name of Imam Husain (a.s.), as has been narrated.
First: The repentance of Ādam (a.s.) was accepted when the Five Names (Asmaae Al-Khamsa) were taught to him. [1447]
Second: The ark of Nūḥ (a.s.) came to rest upon al-Jūdī. [1448]
Third: Zakariyyā (a.s.) was given the glad tidings of Yaḥyā (a.s.). [1449]
Fourth: Yūnus (a.s.) was delivered from the belly of the fish. [1450]
Fifth: The affliction of Ayyūb (a.s.) was removed.
Sixth: The ransom was sent for Ismāʿīl (a.s.). [1451]
Seventh: Yūsuf (a.s.) was rescued from the well and delivered from the prison. [1452]
Eighth: Yaʿqūb (a.s.) was reunited with Yūsuf (a.s.). [1453]
For all of them, at the time of severe distress, sought intercession through the Five Names (Asmaae Al-Khamsa). And when they said:
« بِحَقِّ الْحُسَيْنِ »
“By the right of Imam Husain (a.s.),”
their supplications were answered.
Likewise it was for the rest of the prophets.
The author says:
We too are among those afflicted by the distress of sins, and our tribulation is exceedingly great because of our many sins.
Therefore we ask Allah by the right of Muḥammad (s.a.w.a.), ʿAlī (a.s.), Fāṭimah (a.s.), al-Ḥasan (a.s.), and al-Ḥusayn (a.s.).
And when that noble one (a.s.) is mentioned, our hearts are broken and our tears flow.
Indeed, we hope that Allah will remove affliction from us at the mention of his name and through the blessing of his noble name.
