Al-Imam Husain (a.s.) has a special Miʿraj in Karbala

Al-Imam Husain (a.s.) has a special Miʿraj in Karbala

Surah al-Israʾ: Al-Imam Husain (a.s.) had a special Miʿraj in Karbala. Among its effects is that Karbala became the place of ascension for the angels. [1102]

And the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) passed by this land during the Night Journey (Me'araaj), as has been mentioned in a narration. [1103]

Surah al-Kahf: When the blessed head of the Imam (a.s.) was upon the spear, it recited verses from this surah.

As Zayd ibn Arqam heard in Kufah this verse:

“Do you think that the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription were among Our wondrous signs?” (Surah al-Kahf 18:9).

And a group of people in Syria heard this verse:

“Indeed, they were young men who believed in their Lord, and We increased them in guidance.” (Surah al-Kahf 18:13).

There are wisdoms in these matters which those noble ones know best. [1104]

Surah Maryam: In the narration concerning Zakariyya (a.s.), it is stated that:

is an indication of Karbala, and of the destruction of the Prophet's family (Itraah) through the oppression of Yazid, in a state of thirst yet with patience. [1105]

And in another narration it is stated that the intended meaning of:

“A distant place” (Surah Maryam 19:22),

in the account of the birth of Maryam (a.s.), is the land of Karbala.

It is said that Lady Maryam (a.s.) came there from Damascus through Tayy al-Ardh (the miraculous folding of the earth), gave birth there, and returned on the same night. [1106]

Surah Ta Ha: In this surah there are similarities with that noble Imam (a.s.).

Musa (a.s.) saw a fire from Mount Tur and said to his family to wait until he could bring them a burning brand from it so that they might warm themselves.

And al-Imam Husain (a.s.) saw a light from Karbala and said to his family:

“Come with me, for Allah has willed to see you taken captive.” [1107]

And in the surahs after Ta Ha there are likewise these special correspondences.

For example, he recited some verses from Surah al-Qasas at the time of his departure from Madinah, and some verses at the time of his entry into Makkah, [1108] and he recited certain verses from Surah al-Muʾmin at the time of setting out with determination. [1109]
