Surat al-Kahf

99-/6599 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ النَّهْدِيِّ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ،عَنْ أَبَانٍ،عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُذَاعَةَ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقْرَأُ آخِرَ الْكَهْفِ إِلاَّ تَيَقَّظَ فِي السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي يُرِيدُ».

99-/6599 - Muhammad b. Ya‘qub, from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Ahmad, from Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Nahdi, from Muhammad b. al-Walid, from Aban, from ‘Amir b. ‘Abdillah b. Judha‘ah, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), said: “No servant recites the end of al-Kahf except that he awakens at the hour he intends.”

99-/6600 _2- الشَّيْخُ فِي(التَّهْذِيبِ):بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ،عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ نُوحٍ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ:قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ كَانَتْ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ».

99-/6600 - The Shaykh in (al-Tahdhib), with his chain from ‘Ali b. Mahzyar, from Ayyub b. Nuh, from Muhammad b. Abi Hamzah, said: Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on every eve of Friday, it will be an expiation for what is between one Friday and the next.”

99-/6601 _3- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ هِلاَلٍ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنْ جَدِّهِ،عَنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)يَقُولُ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقْرَأُ: قُلْ إِنَّمٰا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمٰا [1]إِلَى آخِرِ السُّورَةِ إِلاَّ كَانَ لَهُ نُوراً مِنْ مَضْجَعِهِ إِلَى بَيْتِ اللَّهِ الْحَرَامِ،فَإِنَّ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ نُورٌ فِي بَيْتِ اللَّهِ الْحَرَامِ كَانَ لَهُ نُورٌ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ».

99-/6601 - Ibn Babawayh said: Ahmad b. Muhammad narrated to me, he said: My father narrated to me, from Muhammad b. Hilal, from his father, from his grandfather, from the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), who says: “No servant recites: ‘Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that…’ to the end of the surah, except that he will have a light from his resting place to the Sacred House of Allah. For whoever has a light in the Sacred House of Allah has a light to Bayt al-Maqdis.”

[Quran 18:110]

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا

Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your God is one God; therefore whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord. (M. H. Shakir)

99-/6602 _4- وَ عَنْهُ،فِي(الْفَقِيهِ):وَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ: قُلْ إِنَّمٰا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمٰا إِلٰهُكُمْ إِلٰهٌ وٰاحِدٌ [2]إِلَى آخِرِهَا،سَطَعَ لَهُ نُورٌ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ،حَشْوُ ذَلِكَ النُّورِ

99-/6602 - And from him, in (al-Faqih): The Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) said: “Whoever recites this verse at the time of his sleep: ‘Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your God is One God…’ to its end, a light will shine for him to the Sacred Mosque, filled within with angels who seek forgiveness for him until morning.”

[Quran 18:110]

قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَمَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا

مَلاَئِكَةٌ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ».

…angels seeking forgiveness for him until he awakes.”

99-/6603 _5- ثُمَّ قَالَ:رَوَى عَامِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جُذَاعَةَ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقْرَأُ آخِرَ الْكَهْفِ حِينَ يَنَامُ إِلاَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ مِنْ مَنَامِهِ فِي السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي يُرِيدُ».

99-/6603 - Then he said: ‘Amir b. ‘Abdillah b. Judha‘ah narrated from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “No servant recites the end of al-Kahf when he sleeps except that he awakens from his sleep at the hour he intends.”

99-/6604 _6- وَ عَنْهُ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ،عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ كُلَّ لَيْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ،لَمْ يَمُتْ إِلاَّ شَهِيداً،وَ يَبْعَثُهُ [1] اللَّهُ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ،وَ وَقَفَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ».

99-/6604 - And from him, he said: Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakkil narrated to me; he said: Muhammad b. Yahya narrated to me; he said: Muhammad b. Ahmad narrated to me, from Muhammad b. Hassan, from Isma‘il b. Mihran; he said: al-Hasan b. ‘Ali narrated to me, from his father, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf every eve of Friday will not die except as a martyr, and Allah will raise him among the martyrs, and he will stand on the Day of Resurrection with the martyrs.”

99-/6605 _7- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةِ جُمُعَةٍ،لَمْ يَمُتْ إِلاَّ شَهِيداً،وَ يَبْعَثَهُ اللَّهُ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ،وَ أُوْقِفَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ».

99-/6605 - Al-‘Ayyashi: from al-Hasan b. ‘Ali b. Abi Hamzah, from his father, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on every eve of Friday will not die except as a martyr, and Allah will raise him with the martyrs, and he will be made to stand on the Day of Resurrection with the martyrs.”

99-/6606 _8- وَ مِنْ(خَوَاصِّ الْقُرْآنِ):رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ،غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِنَ الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ،وَ زِيَادَةَ ثَلاَثَةِ أَيَّامٍ،وَ أُعْطِيَ نُوراً يَبْلُغُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ،وَ مَنْ كَتَبَهَا وَ جَعَلَهَا فِي إِنَاءِ زُجَاجٍ ضَيِّقِ الرَّأْسِ وَ جَعَلَهُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ،أَمِنَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَ الدَّيْنِ هُوَ وَ أَهْلُهُ،وَ أَمِنَ مِنْ أَذَى النَّاسِ».

99-/6606 - And from (Khawass al-Qur’an): It is narrated from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) that he said: “Whoever recites this surah on Friday, Allah will forgive him from Friday to Friday, plus three extra days, and he will be given a light reaching up to the heaven. And whoever writes it and places it in a narrow-necked glass vessel and puts it in his home, he and his family will be safe from poverty and debt, and safe from people’s harm.”

99-/6607 _9- وَ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: مَنْ كَتَبَهَا وَ جَعَلَهَا فِي إِنَاءِ زُجَاجٍ ضَيِّقِ الرَّأْسِ وَ جَعَلَهُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ،أَمِنَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَ الدَّيْنِ هُوَ وَ أَهْلُهُ،وَ أَمِنَ [2] مِنْ أَذَى النَّاسِ،وَ لاَ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى أَحَدٍ أَبَداً،وَ إِنْ كُتِبَتْ وَ جُعِلَتْ فِي مَخَازِنِ الْحُبُوبِ مِنَ الْقَمْحِ وَ الشَّعِيرِ وَ الْأَرُزِّ وَ الْحِمَّصِ وَ غَيْرِ ذَلِكَ،دَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى كُلَّ مُؤْذٍ مِمَّا يَطْرُقُ الْحُبُوبَ».

99-/6607 - And from al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), he said: “Whoever writes it and places it in a narrow-necked glass vessel and puts it in his home, he and his family will be safe from poverty and debt, and safe from people’s harm, and he will never be in need of anyone. And if it is written and placed in storehouses of grains—wheat, barley, rice, chickpeas, and the like—Allah, by His permission, will ward off from it every harmful thing that attacks the grains.”

قوله تعالى:

His saying, the Exalted:

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلىٰ عَبْدِهِ الْكِتٰابَ وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجاً -إلى قوله تعالى- وَ إِنّٰا لَجٰاعِلُونَ مٰا عَلَيْهٰا صَعِيداً جُرُزاً [1-8]

[Quran 18:1-8]

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ الْكِتَابَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجًا

قَيِّمًا لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْسًا شَدِيدًا مِنْ لَدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا

مَاكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا

وَيُنْذِرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا

مَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَلَا لِآبَائِهِمْ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ إِنْ يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبًا

فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَفْسَكَ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ إِنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ زِينَةً لَهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا

وَإِنَّا لَجَاعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًا جُرُزًا

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

Praise be to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness.

Rightly directing, that he might warn of severe punishment from Him, and give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward,

Staying in it for ever;

And warn those who say: Allah has taken a son.

They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers; grievous is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak nothing but a lie.

Then maybe you will kill yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement.

Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them (as to) which of them is best in works.

And most surely We will make what is on it bare ground without herbage. (M. H. Shakir)

99-/6608 _1-علي بن إبراهيم،في قوله تعالى: اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلىٰ عَبْدِهِ الْكِتٰابَ وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجاً* قَيِّماً قال:هذا مقدم و مؤخر،لأن معناه:الذي أنزل على عبده الكتاب قيما،و لم يجعل له عوجا،فقد قُدم حرف على حرف، لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْساً شَدِيداً مِنْ لَدُنْهُ يعني:يخوفهم و يحذرهم عذاب اللّه عزّ و جلّ: وَ يُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصّٰالِحٰاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْراً حَسَناً* مٰاكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَداً يعني في الجنة: وَ يُنْذِرَ الَّذِينَ قٰالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللّٰهُ وَلَداً* مٰا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ قال:ما قالت قريش حين زعموا أن الملائكة بنات اللّه؛و ما قالت اليهود و النصارى في قولهم:عزير ابن اللّه،و المسيح ابن اللّه؛فرد اللّه تعالى عليهم،فقال: مٰا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَ لاٰ لِآبٰائِهِمْ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوٰاهِهِمْ إِنْ يَقُولُونَ إِلاّٰ كَذِباً .

99-/6608 - ‘Ali b. Ibrahim, regarding His saying, the Exalted: “Praise be to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness. Upright…” said: This involves advancement and delay, for its meaning is: “Who revealed to His servant the Book, upright,” and “He did not make in it any crookedness”—so a word has been advanced over another. “That he might warn of severe punishment from Him” means: he frightens them and warns them of the punishment of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. “And give good news to the believers who do good that they shall have a goodly reward, staying in it forever,” meaning in Paradise. “And warn those who say: Allah has taken a son. They have no knowledge of it”—that is, what Quraysh said when they claimed the angels are the daughters of Allah, and what the Jews and Christians said in their saying: ‘Uzayr is the son of Allah, and the Messiah is the son of Allah. So Allah, Exalted, refuted them, saying: “They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers; grievous is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak nothing but a lie.”

99-/6609 _2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى،عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ،عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ،قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْساً شَدِيداً مِنْ لَدُنْهُ .

فَقَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):«الْبَأْسُ الشَّدِيدُ:هُوَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،وَ هُوَ مِنْ لَدُنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)وَ قَاتَلَ عَدُوَّهُ،فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْساً شَدِيداً مِنْ لَدُنْهُ ،وَ مَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى:

لِيُنْذِرَ ،يَعْنِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): بَأْساً شَدِيداً ».

99-/6609 - Muhammad b. al-‘Abbas said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. ‘Isa narrated to us, from al-Husayn b. Muhammad, from Muhammad b. al-Fudayl, from Abu Hamzah, who said: I asked Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: “That he might warn of severe punishment from Him.” Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) said: “The severe might is ‘Ali b. Abi Talib (peace be upon him); he is from alongside the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) and he fought his enemy. That is His saying, Exalted is He: ‘That he might warn of severe might from Him.’ And the meaning of His saying, Exalted is He, ‘that he might warn,’ refers to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family): of severe might.”
