Surat Ta Ha

qawluhu ta‘ala:

[20:84] And I have hastened to Thee, my Lord, that Thou mightest be pleased. (M. H. Shakir)

99- (Miṣbāḥ al-Sharī‘ah) Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: The one who longs [for God] has no appetite for food, finds no delight in drink, finds no sleep pleasant, takes no comfort in any intimate, settles in no house, inhabits no populated place, wears no clothes [with concern], and finds no rest; rather, he worships God night and day, hoping to reach that for which he longs, conversing with Him in the language of yearning, expressing what lies within his heart—just as God, Exalted is He, informed about Moses (peace be upon him) at the appointed time with his Lord: “And I have hastened to Thee, my Lord, that Thou mightest be pleased.” [20:84]
