S 54 Ayat 27 to 30

قوله تعالى:

إِنّٰا مُرْسِلُوا النّٰاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ -إلى قوله تعالى- فَكَيْفَ كٰانَ عَذٰابِي وَ نُذُرِ [27-30]

Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them; therefore watch them and have patience. And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. But they called their companion, so he took (a sword) and slew (her). How (severe) was My punishment and My warning!

/10272 _1-علي بن إبراهيم:في قوله تعالى: إِنّٰا مُرْسِلُوا النّٰاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ أي اختبارا،و قوله تعالى:

فَنٰادَوْا صٰاحِبَهُمْ ،قال:قدار،الذي عقر الناقة.

Ali ibn Ibrahim: Regarding His saying, "Surely We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them" – it means as a test. And His saying, "But they called their companion" – he said: it was Qidar, the one who hamstrung the she-camel.

99-/10273 _2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النُعْمَانِيُّ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدُ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عُقْدَةَ الْكُوفِيُّ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُحَمَّدِيُّ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَ سِتِّينَ وَ مِائَتَيْنِ،

قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْأَرْحَبِيُّ،وَ يُعْرَفُ بِشَعِرٍ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا مُخَوَّلٌ،عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ أَحْنَفَ،عَنِ الْأَصْبَغِ بْنِ نُبَاتَةَ،

Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Nuʿmānī reported: Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Saʿīd ibn ʿUqda al-Kūfī told us, saying: Abū ʿAbdillāh Jaʿfar ibn ʿAbdillāh al-Muḥammadī narrated to us from his book in Muḥarram of the year 268 AH.

He said: Yazīd ibn Isḥāq al-Arḥabī, also known as Shaʿir, narrated to us, saying: Mukhawwal narrated from Furāt ibn Aḥnaf from al-Aṣbagh ibn Nubāta.

قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَلَى مِنْبَرِ الْكُوفَةِ يَقُولُ[أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ]: «أَنَا أَنْفُ[الْإِيمَانِ،أَنَا أَنْفُ]الْهُدَى وَ عَيْنَاهُ».أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ،لاَ تَسْتَوْحِشُوا فِي طَرِيقِ الْهُدَى لِقِلَّةِ مَنْ يَسْلُكُهُ،إِنَّ النَّاسَ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى مَائِدَةٍ،قَلِيلٍ شِبَعُهَا، كَثِيرٍ جُوعُهَا،وَ اللَّهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ،وَ إِنَّمَا يَجْمَعُ النَّاسَ الرِّضَا وَ الْغَضَبُ.

Al-Aṣbagh ibn Nubāta said: I heard the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) on the pulpit of Kūfa saying: “O people! I am the essence of faith. I am the source and vision of guidance. O people, do not feel lonely on the path of guidance because of the few who tread it. Indeed, people have gathered around a table whose satiation is little but whose hunger is vast. And Allah is the One from whom help is sought. People are only united by pleasure and anger.”

أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ،إِنَّمَا عَقَرَ نَاقَةَ ثَمُودَ وَاحِدٌ،فَأَصَابَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابِهِ بِالرِّضَا لِفِعْلِهِ،وَ آيَةُ ذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ جَلَّ وَ عَزَّ فَنٰادَوْا صٰاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعٰاطىٰ فَعَقَرَ* فَكَيْفَ كٰانَ عَذٰابِي وَ نُذُرِ ، وَ قَالَ: فَعَقَرُوهٰا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِذَنْبِهِمْ فَسَوّٰاهٰا* وَ لاٰ يَخٰافُ عُقْبٰاهٰا [1]،أَلاَ وَ مَنْ سُئِلَ عَنْ قَاتِلِي،فَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ،فَقَدْ قَتَلَنِي أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ،مَنْ سَلَكَ الطَّرِيقَ وَرَدَ الْمَاءَ،وَ مَنْ حَادَ عَنْهُ وَقَعَ فِي التِّيهِ»ثُمَّ نَزَلَ.

O people! Indeed, it was only one man who hamstrung the she-camel of Thamūd, yet Allah afflicted them all with His punishment because they were pleased with his act. The sign of this is His saying, the Mighty and Majestic: “So they called their companion, and he undertook (it) and slew (her). Then how (great) was My punishment and My warning!” [Qur’an 54:29–30] And He also said: “So they slew her, then their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). And He fears not its consequence.” [Qur’an 91:14–15]

Behold! Whoever is asked about my killer and claims he is a believer, then indeed he has killed me. O people! Whoever treads the path reaches the water, and whoever deviates from it will fall into confusion.” Then he descended (from the pulpit).

ثُمَّ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ:وَ رَوَاهُ لَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَمَّامٍ،وَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُمْهُورٍ،جَمِيعاً عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُمْهُورٍ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ نُوحٍ،عَنِ ابْنِ عُلَيْمٍ،عَنْ رَجُلٍ،عَنْ فُرَاتِ بْنِ أَحْنَفَ،قَالَ:أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،وَ ذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ،إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِيهِ:«لاَ تَسْتَوْحِشُوا فِي طَرِيقِ الْهُدَى لِقِلَّةِ أَهْلِهِ».

Then Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm said: Muḥammad ibn Hammām and Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Jumhūr both narrated to us from al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Jumhūr, from Aḥmad ibn Nūḥ, from Ibn ʿUlaym, from a man, from Furāt ibn Aḥnaf, who said: I was informed by one who heard Amīr al-Mu’minīn (peace be upon him), and he narrated the same as previously, except that he said in it: “Do not feel estranged on the path of guidance because of the fewness of its people.”
