Hud Ayah 35

و سيأتي إن شاء اللّه تعالى في قوله تعالى: وَ مَنْ كٰانَ فِي هٰذِهِ أَعْمىٰ فَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَعْمىٰ حديث مسند [1].

A musnad hadith will, God willing, be mentioned later under His saying: “And whoever is blind in this, he shall (also) be blind in the hereafter” [1].

99-/5076 _1- عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ:بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ،عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ): «أَنَّهُ نَزَلَتْ وَ لاٰ يَنْفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِي فِي الْعَبَّاسِ».

99-/5076 - From ‘Alī b. Ibrāhīm, with his chain from Abū al-Tufayl, from ‘Alī b. al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon them): “Indeed, ‘And my advice will not profit you’ was revealed regarding al-‘Abbās.”

قوله تعالى:

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرٰاهُ [35]

Qur’an 11:35 — M. H. Shakir: Or do they say: He has forged it? Say: If I have forged it, on me is my guilt, and I am clear of what you are guilty.

99-/5077 _2- الشَّيْبَانِيُّ فِي(نَهْجِ الْبَيَانِ):عَنْ مُقَاتِلٍ،قَالَ: إِنَّ كُفَّارَ مَكَّةَ قَالُوا:إِنَّ مُحَمَّداً افْتَرَى الْقُرْآنَ.قَالَ: وَ رُوِيَ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ).

99-/5077 - Al-Shaybānī in (Nahj al-Bayān): from Muqātil, who said: The disbelievers of Mecca said: “Muḥammad has forged the Qur’an.” He said: And something similar has been narrated from Abū Ja‘far and Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon them).

قوله تعالى:

وَ أُوحِيَ إِلىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُ لَنْ يُؤْمِنَ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ إِلاّٰ مَنْ قَدْ آمَنَ فَلاٰ تَبْتَئِسْ بِمٰا كٰانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ* وَ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنٰا وَ وَحْيِنٰا وَ لاٰ تُخٰاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا إِنَّهُمْ مُغْرَقُونَ -إلى قوله تعالى- فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ الْعاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ [36-49]

Qur’an 11:36 — M. H. Shakir: And it was revealed to Nuh: None of your people will believe except those who have already believed, so do not grieve at what they do.

Qur’an 11:37 — M. H. Shakir: And make the ark under Our eyes and Our revelation, and do not plead with Me on behalf of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned.

Qur’an 11:38 — M. H. Shakir: And he began to make the ark; and whenever the chiefs of his people passed by him they derided him. He said: If you deride us, surely we shall deride you as you deride.

Qur’an 11:39 — M. H. Shakir: So shall you know who it is on whom will come a chastisement which will disgrace him, and on whom will lasting chastisement come down.

Qur’an 11:40 — M. H. Shakir: Until when Our command came and the oven boiled over, We said: Carry in it two of all things, a pair, and your own family, except those against whom the word has already gone forth, and those who believe. And there believed not with him but a few.

Qur’an 11:41 — M. H. Shakir: And he said: Embark in it; in the name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring; most surely my Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.

Qur’an 11:42 — M. H. Shakir: And it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and Nuh called out to his son, and he was aloof: O my son! embark with us and be not with the unbelievers.

Qur’an 11:43 — M. H. Shakir: He said: I will betake myself for refuge to a mountain that shall protect me from the water. Nuh said: There is no protector today from Allah’s command but He Who has mercy; and a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned.

Qur’an 11:44 — M. H. Shakir: And it was said: O earth! swallow down your water, and O cloud! clear away! And the water was made to abate and the affair was decided, and it rested on the al-Judi, and it was said: Away with the unjust people.

Qur’an 11:45 — M. H. Shakir: And Nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and Thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.

Qur’an 11:46 — M. H. Shakir: He said: O Nuh! surely he is not of your family; surely he is (the doer of) other than good deeds, therefore ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge; surely I admonish you lest you be of the ignorant.

Qur’an 11:47 — M. H. Shakir: He said: My Lord! I seek refuge in Thee from asking Thee that of which I have no knowledge, and unless Thou forgive me and have mercy on me I shall be of the losers.

Qur’an 11:48 — M. H. Shakir: It was said: O Nuh! descend with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the nations (springing) from those with you; and (as for) the other nations We will grant them provisions, then there shall afflict them from Us a painful chastisement.

Qur’an 11:49 — M. H. Shakir: These are announcements relating to the unseen which We reveal to you, you did not know them — (neither) you nor your people — before this; therefore be patient; surely the (good) end is for those who guard (against evil).

99-/5078 _3- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي(رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ)،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى،عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ،عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْمِيثَمِيِّ،عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «كَانَ اسْمُ نُوحٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَبْدَ الْغَفَّارِ،وَ إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ نُوحاً لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَنُوحُ عَلَى قَوْمِهِ» [2].

99-/5078 - Ibn Bābawayh said: My father (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us; he said: Sa‘d b. ‘Abdillāh narrated to us, from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ‘Īsā, from al-‘Abbās b. Ma‘rūf, from ‘Alī b. Mahzyār, from Aḥmad b. al-Ḥasan al-Mīthamī, from one who mentioned it, from Abū ‘Abdillāh (peace be upon him), that he said: “The name of Nūḥ (peace be upon him) was ‘Abd al-Ghaffār, and he was called Nūḥ only because he used to lament over his people.” [2]

99-/5079 _4- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ(رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ)،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ،

99-/5079 - And from him: from Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan b. Aḥmad b. al-Walīd (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan al-Ṣaffār narrated to us, ...
