99-/9699 Ali ibn Ibrahim said: My father narrated to me, from Hanan ibn Sadir, from Abdullah ibn al-Fudayl al-Hamdani, from his father, from his grandfather, from Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him), who said:

"A man, an enemy of Allah and His Messenger, passed by him, and he recited: ‘So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited.’ (Quran 44:29, M.H. Shakir)

Then, Al-Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon them) passed by him, and he said: 'But for this one, surely the heaven and the earth shall weep for him.'

And he further said: 'The heaven and the earth did not weep except for Yahya ibn Zakariya and Al-Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon them).'"

99-/9700 He said: My father narrated to me, from Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from Al-‘Ala’, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said:

"Ali ibn Al-Husayn (peace be upon them) used to say:

Whoever among the believers sheds tears for the killing of Al-Husayn (peace be upon him) and those who were with him until they flow down his cheek, Allah will grant him lofty chambers in Paradise.

And whoever among the believers sheds tears that flow down his cheek due to the harm that has afflicted us from our enemies in this world, Allah will grant him an abode of truth in Paradise.

And whoever among the believers suffers harm because of us, and his eyes shed tears that flow down his cheeks due to the grief of what he endured for our sake, Allah will remove affliction from his face and will grant him safety from His wrath and from the Fire on the Day of Judgment."

99-/9701 He said: My father narrated to me, from Bakr ibn Muhammad, from Abu Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said:

"Whoever remembers us or we are mentioned in his presence, and a tear as small as the wing of a mosquito flows from his eyes, Allah will forgive his sins, even if they are as abundant as the foam of the sea."

99-/9702 Abu al-Qasim Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn Qulawayh, in Kamil al-Ziyarat, said: My father (may Allah have mercy on him) and a group of our elders narrated to me, from Ali ibn al-Husayn and Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Sa‘d ibn Abdullah, from Ya‘qub ibn Yazid, from Ahmad ibn al-Hasan al-Mithami, from Ali al-Azraq, from Al-Hasan ibn al-Hakam al-Nakha‘i, from a man who said: [1]

I heard Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him) in Rahbah while he was reciting this verse:

“So the heaven and the earth did not weep for them, nor were they respited.” (Quran 44:29, M.H. Shakir)

At that moment, Al-Husayn ibn Ali (peace be upon them) came out from one of the doors of the mosque. Then he said: "As for this one, he shall be killed, and the heaven and the earth shall weep for him."
