Surah Al-Qadr – Its Virtues
(Tafseer Burhan Vol 5 Pg 699 – 715)
99-/11756 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ،عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ،عَنْ رَجُلٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ يَجْهَرُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ،كَانَ كَالشَّاهِرِ سَيْفَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا سِرّاً كَانَ كَالْمُتَشَحِّطِ بِدَمِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ غُفِرَ لَهُ عَلَى[نَحْوِ]أَلْفِ ذَنْبٍ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ».
ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ،عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ،عَنْ رَجُلٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،مِثْلَهُ [1].
99-/11756 Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub: from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ibn Mahbub, from Saif ibn ‘Amira, from a man, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said:
"Whoever recites 'Indeed We revealed it on the Night of Qadr' (إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ, Surah Al-Qadr 97:1) aloud, it is as if he has unsheathed his sword in the path of Allah. And whoever recites it silently, it is as if he is covered in his own blood in the path of Allah. And whoever recites it ten times, a thousand of his sins shall be forgiven."
Ibn Babawayh: from his father, from Sa‘d ibn ‘Abdullah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from Saif ibn ‘Amira, from a man, from Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him), with the same narration.
99-/11757 _2- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ،وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،جَمِيعاً،عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ،عَنْ رَجُلٍ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)فِي الْعُوذَةِ،[قَالَ]: «تَأْخُذُ قُلَّةً [2]جَدِيدَةً،فَتَجْعَلُ فِيهَا مَاءً،ثُمَّ تَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهَا: إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ثَلاَثِينَ مَرَّةً،ثُمَّ تُعَلِّقُ وَ تَشْرَبُ مِنْهَا وَ تَتَوَضَّأُ،وَ يَزْدَادُ فِيهَا مَاءً إِنْ شَاءَ».
99-/11757 And from him: from Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Ahmad ibn Ishaq, and ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, all together, from Bakr ibn Muhammad Al-Azdi, from a man, from Abu ‘Abdullah (peace be upon him) regarding seeking protection (al-‘udhah), [he said]:
"You take a new jug, fill it with water, then recite over it 'Indeed We revealed it on the Night of Qadr' (إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ, Surah Al-Qadr 97:1) thirty times. Then, you hang it, drink from it, and perform ablution with it. And its water will continue to increase, if Allah wills."
99-/11758 _3- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:بِإِسْنَادِهِ،عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَلاَءِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فِي فَرِيضَةٍ مِنْ فَرَائِضِ اللَّهِ نَادَى مُنَادٍ:يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ،غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا مَضَى فَاسْتَأْنِفِ الْعَمَلَ».
99-/11758 Ibn Babawayh, with his chain of transmission, from Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-'Ala, from Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him), said:
"Whoever recites 'Indeed We revealed it on the Night of Qadr' (إِنّٰا أَنْزَلْنٰاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ, Surah Al-Qadr 97:1) in an obligatory prayer among the obligations of Allah, a caller will call out: O servant of Allah, Allah has forgiven your past sins, so begin anew in your deeds."

[2] Al-Qullah: It generally refers to a jar or large vessel, and some have said it specifically means a small jug or pitcher. (Lisan al-Arab 11:565).

و سيأتي-إن شاء اللّه تعالى-زيادة فضل في فضل سورة التوحيد [1].
And it will be mentioned later—if Allah wills—additional virtues regarding the merit of Surah Al-Tawhid.
99-/11759 _4- وَ مِنْ(خَوَاصِّ الْقُرْآنِ):رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)،أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ،كَانَ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ كَمَنْ صَامَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ،وَ إِنْ وَافَقَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ،كَانَ لَهُ ثَوَابٌ كَثَوَابِ مَنْ قَاتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا عَلَى بَابِ مَخْزَنٍ سَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ كُلِّ آفَةٍ وَ سُوءٍ إِلَى أَنْ يُخْرِجَ صَاحِبُهُ مَا فِيهِ».
99-/11759 _4- And from (the special qualities of the Qur’an), it is narrated from the Prophet (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ) that he said: "Whoever recites this surah, will have a reward equivalent to that of fasting the month of Ramadan. And if it coincides with the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr), he will have the reward of one who fought in the way of Allah. And whoever recites it at the entrance of a storage place, Allah, the Exalted, will safeguard it from all calamities and harm until its owner removes what is inside."
99-/11760 _5- وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): «مَنْ قَرَأَهَا كَانَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ رَفِيقاً وَ صَاحِباً،وَ إِنْ كُتِبَتْ فِي إِنَاءٍ جَدِيدٍ،وَ نَظَرَ فِيهِ صَاحِبُ اللَّقْوَةِ [2]شَفَاهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى».
99-/11760 _5- And the Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ) said: "Whoever recites it will have the best of creation as his companion and friend on the Day of Judgment. And if it is written in a new vessel and a person suffering from facial paralysis looks into it, Allah, the Exalted, will grant him healing."
99-/11761 _6- وَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «مَنْ قَرَأَهَا بَعْدَ عِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ خَمْسَ عَشَرَ مَرَّةً،كَانَ فِي أَمَانِ اللَّهِ إِلَى تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ الْأُخْرَى،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا فِي كُلِّ لَيْلَةٍ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ أَمِنَ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا عَلَى مَا يُدَّخَرُ [3]ذَهَباً أَوْ فِضَّةً أَوْ أَثَاثٍ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ مِنْ جَمِيعِ مَا يَضُرُّهُ،وَ إِنْ قُرِئَتْ عَلَى مَا فِيهِ غَلَّةٌ [4]نَفَعَهُ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى».
99-/11761 _6- And Al-Sadiq (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) said: "Whoever recites it fifteen times after the last evening prayer (ʿIshāʾ), will remain in the protection of Allah until the next night. And whoever recites it seven times every night will be safe that night until the break of dawn. And whoever recites it over stored gold, silver, or household items, Allah will bless it and protect it from all harm. And if it is recited over a place where crops are stored, it will be beneficial by the permission of Allah, the Exalted."

Al-Laqwa (اللَّقْوَة): A disease that affects the face, causing the mouth to become distorted. (Lisan al-ʿArab 15:253).

[4] الغلّة:الدّخل الذي يحصل من الزرج و الثمر و اللبن.«لسان العرب 11:504».
Al-Ghalla (الغَلَّة): The income obtained from crops, fruits, and milk. (Lisan al-ʿArab 11:504).
