Sūrat al-Māʿūn — Its Virtue

99-/11917 _1- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:بِإِسْنَادِهِ،عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَابِتٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ(أَ رَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ)فِي فَرَائِضِهِ وَ نَوَافِلِهِ،كَانَ فِيمَنْ قَبِلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ صَلاَتَهُ وَ صِيَامَهُ،وَ لَمْ يُحَاسِبْهُ بِمَا كَانَ مِنْهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا».

99-/11917 Ibn Bābawayh, through his chain of transmission, from ʿAmr ibn Thābit, from Abū Jaʿfar (peace be upon him), said:

“Whoever recites Sūrat (A ra'ayta alladhī yukadhdhibu biddīn) [Qur’an 107:1] in his obligatory and supererogatory prayers will be among those whose prayer and fasting Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, accepts, and He will not take him to account for what he did during his worldly life.”

M. H. Shakir Translation of Qur’an 107:1: “Have you considered him who calls the judgment a lie?”

99-/11918 _2- وَ مِنْ(خَوَاصِّ الْقُرْآنِ):رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا دَامَتِ الزَّكَاةُ مُؤَدَّاةً،وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ حَفِظَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ».

99-/11918 And among the special properties of the Qur’an, it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he said:

“Whoever recites this sūrah, Allah will forgive him as long as zakāt continues to be given. And whoever recites it one hundred times after the morning prayer, Allah will protect him until the next morning prayer.”

99-/11919 _3- وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): «مَنْ قَرَأَهَا بَعْدَ عِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَ حَفِظَهُ إِلَى صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ».

99-/11919 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:

“Whoever recites it after the night prayer (ʿishāʾ al-ākhirah), Allah will forgive him and protect him until the morning prayer (ṣalāt al-ṣubḥ).”

99-/11920 _4- وَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «مَنْ قَرَأَهَا بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ كَانَ فِي أَمَانِ اللَّهِ وَ حِفْظِهِ إِلَى وَقْتِهَا فِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّانِي».

99-/11920 Al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) said:

“Whoever recites it after the ʿAṣr prayer will be in the protection and safeguard of Allah until the same time on the following day.”
