99. Healing from Illness through a Sacrificial Vow to Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.)
(Narrated on Sunday, 20th Dhī al-Ḥijjah al-Ḥarām, 4/8/1392 SH = 1434 AH)
Ḥujjat al-Islām wal-Muslimīn Āqā Ḥājj Shaykh ʿAbbās Shaykh al-Raʾīs Kirmānī narrates:
Around fifty years ago, I was afflicted with severe pain in my side.
I consulted many doctors in Kirmān, Tehran, and Qom, but to no avail.
This condition persisted for about two years.
Eventually, one of the doctors suggested:
“We need to perform a biopsy.”
But I wasn’t ready.
I traveled to Qom and in the shrine of Hazrat Maʿṣūmah (‘alayhā al-salām), I sought intercession (tawassul).

That night, in a dream, I saw a person standing beside a sheep, who said:
“Make a vow to sacrifice a sheep like this one for Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.).
And don’t say ‘it was just a dream’—this is your hujjah (proof)!”
I awoke and immediately made the vow.
That very moment, the pain in my side disappeared.

Sometime later, I went to the village of Tīk Dar for a preaching session.
They said: “We have everything, but we are short one sheep.”
I said, “Bring it.”
They brought a sheep and I realized:
“This is exactly the same sheep I had seen in my dream!”
I purchased it for thirty tumans and slaughtered it as the vow.

In the same gathering, I said:
“One day my son, Shaykh Maḥmūd, was eating food when a piece of meat got stuck in his throat.
He began to choke; his face turned black.
I tried to remove it, but his mouth had locked shut.”
His mother asked:
“Shall I make a vow of a sheep for Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.)?”
I said, “Do it.”
She made the vow, and at that very moment, the meat dislodged, and he was saved.
