English translation:
Jesus (peace be upon him) promised his companions on the night Allah raised him up to Himself. They gathered to him in the evening, twelve men, and he brought them into a house. Then he came out to them from a spring in a corner of the house, shaking water from his head, and said: “Allah has revealed to me that He will raise me up to Him this very hour and purify me from the Jews. Which of you will have my likeness cast upon him, be killed and crucified, and be with me in my station?” A young man among them said, “I will, O Spirit of Allah.” He said, “Then it is you.”
Jesus (peace be upon him) then said to them: “Among you is one who will disbelieve in me before morning, twelve times over.” One of them said to him, “It is I, O Prophet of Allah.” Jesus (peace be upon him) said, “Do you sense that in yourself? Then let it be you.”
Jesus (peace be upon him) then said to them: “After me you will split into three factions: two factions who fabricate lies against Allah will be in the Fire, and one faction will follow Sham‘un, truthful before Allah, in the Garden.” Then Allah, exalted is He, raised Jesus (peace be upon him) up to Himself from the corner of the house as they looked on at him.
Abu Ja‘far (peace be upon him) then said: “The Jews came seeking Jesus (peace be upon him) that very night; they seized the man to whom Jesus had said: ‘Among you is one who will disbelieve in me before morning, twelve times over,’ and they seized the youth upon whom the likeness of Jesus (peace be upon him) had been cast; he was killed and crucified, and the one to whom Jesus had said, ‘You will disbelieve before morning, twelve times over,’ did disbelieve.”

Al-‘Ayyashi: from Ibn ‘Umar, from some of our companions, from a man who narrated to him from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him), who said: “Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) was raised up wearing a woolen tunic spun by Mary, woven by Mary, and sewn by Mary. When he reached the heaven, it was called out: ‘O Jesus, cast off from yourself the adornment of the world.’”

Ibn Babawayh said: Muhammad b. Ibrahim b. Ishaq al-Talaqani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us; he said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Sa‘id b. ‘Uqdah al-Kufi narrated to us; he said: ‘Ali b. al-Hasan b. ‘Ali b. Faddal, from his father, from Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali b. Musa (peace be upon him), who said: “No one among Allah’s prophets and His proofs had his affair made to appear to the people like Jesus (peace be upon him) alone, for he was raised alive from the earth, then his soul was taken between heaven and earth; then he was raised to heaven and his soul was returned to him. That is His saying, Mighty and Majestic: ‘When Allah said: O ‘Isa, I am going to terminate your period and cause you to ascend unto Me and purify you,’ and Allah, exalted, said, relating Jesus’ words on the Day of Resurrection: ‘And I was a witness over them so long as I was among them, but when You did cause me to die, You were the watcher over them, and You are witness of all things’ [1].”

99-/1716 English translation:
‘Ali b. Ibrahim said: My father narrated to me, from al-Nadr b. Suwayd, from Ibn Sinan, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him): “When the Christians of Najran came as a delegation to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family), their leaders were al-Ahtam, al-‘Aqib, and al-Sayyid. When the time of their prayer arrived, they began striking the bell and prayed. The companions of the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, this in your mosque?’ He said, ‘Leave them.’
When they finished, they came near the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) and said to him, ‘To what are you calling us?’ He said, ‘To bearing witness that there is no god but Allah, that I am the Messenger of Allah, and that Jesus is a created servant who eats, drinks, and excretes.’ They said, ‘Then who is his father?’ Revelation descended upon the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family), and he said, ‘Say to them: What do you say about Adam? Was he a created servant who ate, drank, excreted, and married?’ The Prophet (Allah bless him and his family) asked them, and they said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Then who is his father?’ They were confounded and remained silent. Then Allah revealed: ‘Surely the likeness of ‘Isa is with Allah as the likeness of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him, Be, and he was,’ up to His saying: ‘Then let us invoke the curse of Allah on the liars’ [1].
The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) said, ‘So come, let us engage in mutual imprecation (mubahalah): if I am truthful, the curse will descend upon you; and if I am lying, it will descend upon me.’ They said, ‘You have been fair.’ They agreed on a time for the mubahalah. When they returned to their dwellings, their chiefs—al-Sayyid, al-‘Aqib, and al-Ahtam—said, ‘If he comes to the mubahalah with his people (en masse), we will do it with him, for he is not a prophet; but if he comes with only his household in particular, we will not do it with him, for no one would advance his household unless he is truthful.’ When morning came, they came to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family), and with him were the Commander of the Faithful, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn (blessings of Allah be upon them). The Christians said, ‘Who are these?’ It was said to them, ‘This is his cousin, his executor (wasi), and his son-in-law, ‘Ali b. Abi Talib; this is his daughter Fatimah; and these are his two sons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn.’ They were afraid and said [2] to the Messenger of Allah, ‘We will make terms with you—so excuse us from the mubahalah.’ The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) made peace with them for the jizyah, and they departed.”
