An-Nahl Ayah 64
99-/6063 _5- Translation: From ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, who said: Humaid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Talhah ibn Zayd, from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad, from his father (peace be upon them), in the hadith explaining His saying: “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth; a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp; the lamp...” [Qur’an 24:35]. At the end of the hadith I said to Ja‘far ibn Muhammad: May I be your ransom, my master—indeed they say: “the likeness of the light of the Lord”? He said: “Glory be to Allah! There is no likeness for Allah. Allah said: ‘Therefore do not give likenesses to Allah’” [Qur’an 16:74; Shakir: Therefore do not give likenesses to Allah; surely Allah knows and you do not know].
99-/6064 _6- Translation: ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim said regarding His saying: “And if Allah had taken men to task for their wrongdoing”—that is, at the time of their disobedience and wrongdoing—“He would not have left on it a single living being; but He postpones them to an appointed term; so when their term comes they shall not postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it” [Qur’an 16:61; Shakir translation quoted in full].
99-/6065 _7- Translation: Al-‘Ayyashi: from Humran, from Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him): “The term appointed on the Night of Decree is the term of which Allah said: ‘So when their term comes they shall not postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it’” [Qur’an 16:61; Shakir: So when their term comes they shall not postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it].
99-/6066 _8- Translation: And ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim said regarding His saying: “And they assign to Allah what they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie”—that is, their lying tongues assert that “for them is the best” whereas “assuredly for them is the Fire, and that they shall be brought forward,” meaning: punished [Qur’an 16:62–63 context; see also 16:62–63, 16:62 end: Shakir: And they ascribe to Allah what they (themselves) dislike, and their tongues relate the lie that for them is the good; most surely for them is the Fire and that they shall be (neglected)].
Qur’an 16:64 (al-Nahl 64)
Shakir: And We have not revealed to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that about which they differ, and (as) a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.
99-/6067 _1- Translation: Al-‘Ayyashi: from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) said to me: “O Anas, pour out water for my ablution.”

99-/6067 _1- Translation: He said: So I prepared and poured the ablution water for the Prophet (Allah bless him and his family) in the house, then informed him. He came out and performed ablution, then returned to the house to his seat. Then he raised his head toward me and said: “O Anas, the first to enter upon us will be the Commander of the Faithful, the master of the Muslims, and the leader of the radiant, white-foot-marked.” Anas said: I said to myself: O Allah, make him a man from my people. Then, behold, the door of the house was knocked. I went out and opened it, and it was ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him). He entered and walked, and when the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) saw him, he leapt to his feet rejoicing. He remained standing while ‘Ali (peace be upon him) walked until he came into the house to him, and the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) embraced him. I saw the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) wipe his face with his palm and wipe with it the face of ‘Ali (peace be upon him), and he would wipe from the face of ‘Ali (peace be upon him) with his palm and then wipe with it his own face—meaning, his own face. ‘Ali (peace be upon him) said to him: “O Messenger of Allah, I have seen you do for me today something you have never done for me before.” The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) said: “And what should prevent me, when you are my trustee and my successor, the one who will make clear to them what they differ about after me, and you convey on my behalf and make them hear my prophethood.”
99-/6068 _2- Translation: And through the route of the general (Sunni) scholars: the imam, hadith master Abu Nu‘aym Ahmad ibn ‘Abdillah ibn Ahmad, transmitted with his chain in his Hilya: from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and his family) said: “O Anas, pour out water for my ablution.” Then he stood and prayed two cycles, then said: “O Anas, the first to enter upon you from this door will be the Commander of the Faithful, the master of the Muslims, the leader of the radiant, white-foot-marked, and the seal of the executors (successors).” Anas said: I said: O Allah, make him a man from the Ansar, and I concealed it; then ‘Ali (peace be upon him) came. He said: “Who is this, O Anas?” I said: ‘Ali. He stood up rejoicing and embraced him, then he began to wipe the sweat of his face with his (own) face, and he wiped the sweat of ‘Ali (peace be upon him) with his (own) face. ‘Ali (peace be upon him) said: “O Messenger of Allah, I saw you do something you had not done to me before.” He said: “And what should prevent me, when you convey on my behalf, make them hear my voice [or: my prophethood—variant], and make clear to them what they differed about after me.” This hadith was also narrated by the scholars of the generality: Muwaffaq ibn Ahmad, in his book Fadail Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him), from Anas, in the same form as in the Hilya without change.

Qur’an 16:65–67 (al-Nahl 65–67)
Shakir:
65) And Allah has sent down water from the cloud and therewith given life to the earth after its death; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who would hear.
66) And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies—from betwixt the feces and the blood—pure milk, easy and agreeable to swallow for those who drink.
67) And of the fruits of the palms and the grapes—you obtain from them intoxication and goodly provision; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who ponder.
