Translation: He said: “And the first wrath was when they denied Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him), and the second wrath was when they denied Muhammad (may Allah bless him and his family).” He said: “The first wrath was that He made them apes, despised, and He cursed them upon the tongue of Jesus (peace be upon him). And the second wrath was when Allah set upon them the swords of Muhammad, his family, his companions, and his community, until He humbled them by it; so they either entered Islam willingly, or they paid the jizya in abasement and humiliation.”

99-/557 _1- Imam al-‘Askari (peace be upon him) said: “And when it is said to these Jews who have been mentioned before, ‘Believe in what Allah has sent down upon Muhammad’—namely the Qur’an which comprises the lawful and the unlawful, the obligations and the rulings—they say, ‘We believe in what was sent down to us,’ meaning the Torah; and they disbelieve in what is besides it, that is, whatever is other than it—they do not believe in it—though it is the truth. And what these Jews call ‘besides it’ is indeed the truth, because it is the abrogator and the abrogated which Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has advanced. Allah, Exalted, said: ‘Say: Why then did you kill Allah’s prophets before, if you were believers?’—that is, why did your forefathers kill the prophets of Allah before, if you are believers in the Torah? Is the Torah one that commands the killing of prophets? If you are killing the prophets, then you have not believed in what was sent down to you of the Torah, for in it is the prohibition of killing the prophets. Likewise, if you do not believe in Muhammad and in what was sent down upon him—which is the Qur’an and in it is the command to believe in him—then you have not yet believed in the Torah. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said: Allah, Exalted, has informed that whoever does not believe in the Qur’an has not believed in the Torah, because Allah, Exalted, took from them the commitment to believe in both; He does not accept belief in one of them except together with belief in the other. Likewise, Allah made belief in the wilayah of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib an obligation just as He made belief in Muhammad an obligation; so whoever says: ‘I believe in the prophethood of Muhammad but disbelieve in the wilayah of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib,’ has not believed in the prophethood of Muhammad. When Allah, Exalted, resurrects the creatures on the Day of Resurrection, a caller belonging to our Lord will call out to make the creatures aware with regard to their belief and their disbelief, and he will say: ‘Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.’ Another caller will call out: ‘O assembly of creatures, assist him in this proclamation.’ As for the dahriyyah and the mu‘attilah, they will be struck dumb and their tongues will not speak, while the rest of the people among the creatures will say it, and thus the dahriyyah and the mu‘attilah will be distinguished from the rest of the people by their dumbness. Then the caller will say: ‘I bear witness that there is no god but Allah,’ and all the creatures will say it except those who associated partners with Allah, Exalted, among the Magians, the Christians, and the idol-worshippers; they will be dumb, and by that they will be set apart from the rest of the creatures. Then the caller will say: ‘I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,’ and all the Muslims will say it, while the Jews, the Christians, and the rest of the polytheists will be dumb concerning it. Then another caller will call out from the plains of the Resurrection: ‘Behold, drive them to Paradise for their testimony to Muhammad’s prophethood.’ Then the call will come from Allah, Exalted: ‘No; rather, stop them, for they are to be questioned.’ The angels—those who said: ‘Drive them to Paradise for their testimony to Muhammad’s prophethood’—will say: ‘Why are they being stopped, our Lord?’ Then the call will come from Allah, Exalted: ‘Stop them, for they will be questioned about the wilayah of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib and the family of Muhammad. O My male and female servants, I commanded them, along with the testimony to Muhammad, to [affirm] another testimony; if they bring it, give them their reward and honor their place of return; but if they do not bring it, then their testimony to Muhammad’s prophethood and to My lordship will not benefit them. Whoever brings it is among the successful, and whoever does not bring it is among the ruined.’”

Translation: He said: “Among them is one who will say: ‘I did bear witness to the wilayah of ‘Ali b. Abi Talib and I loved the family of Muhammad,’ while he is lying in that, thinking that his lie will save him. It will be said to him: ‘We shall call ‘Ali to testify against that.’ So you—O Abu al-Hasan—will testify and say: ‘Paradise bears witness for my friends, and the Fire bears witness against my enemies.’ Whoever among them is truthful, the breezes and fragrance of Paradise will come to him, lift him up, and carry him, and bring him to the uppermost heights and chambers of Paradise, and settle him in the Abode of Permanence by the grace of his Lord—where no weariness shall touch him, and no fatigue shall touch him. But whoever among them is lying, the hot blasts and boiling water of the Fire will come to him, and its shade which is threefold—neither cool nor of any use against the flame—will carry him, lift him into the air, and cast him into the Fire of Hell.” Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said: “For that reason, you are the Divider of Paradise and Fire; you will say to it: ‘This one is for me, and that one is for you.’”

Rather, it was their forebears who were before them that killed [them]; so they were made to be [counted as] those killers; thus Allah made them [as] of them and attributed to them the action of their forebears because they followed them and took them as allies.”

Qur’an 2:92 (M. H. Shakir): And most certainly Musa came to you with clear arguments, then you took the calf (for a god) in his absence and you were unjust.

99-/560 _1- Imam al-‘Askari (peace be upon him) said: “Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said to the Jews who were previously mentioned: ‘And most certainly Musa came to you with clear proofs…’”
