All the Prophets (a.s.) visited the land of Karbala

All the Prophets (a.s.) visited the land of Karbala

It is narrated from Kaʿb al-Ahbar that there was no Prophet (a.s.) except that he visited the land of Karbala and said:

“In you shall be buried the moon of the constellation of Imamate.”

The detailed account of this belongs elsewhere. [1170]

Twentieth: Allah adorned the Kaʿbah with the hajar al-aswad (Black Stone), which was a ruby that descended from Paradise.

It was whiter than milk, but became black due to the touch of disbelievers and sinners.

And al-Imam Husain (a.s.) is the adornment of Paradise.

Rather, he is the adornment of the Throne (al-arsh), as it is narrated from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) that Paradise asked Allah to adorn it.

Then revelation came:

“I have adorned your pillars with al-Hasan (a.s.) and al-Imam Husain (a.s.).”

Thereupon Paradise exulted with joy like a bride and became exceedingly delighted. [1171]

And in another narration it is stated that when the Day of Resurrection arrives, the Throne of Allah will be adorned with all of its ornaments.

Then two pulpits will be brought, each one a hundred miles high, and placed to the right and left of the Throne.

Al-Hasan (a.s.) and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) will ascend those pulpits.

And Allah will adorn His Throne

with them just as earrings adorn the ears of women. [1172]

Among the virtues of the hajar al-aswad is that the covenant (meethaaq) of creation was entrusted to it.

This is because it was the first angel to affirm that covenant which Allah took from creation.

Its love for Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) and his family (a.s.) was greater than that of anyone else.

Therefore Allah transformed it into a jewel and sent it to Adam (a.s.), and it became the companion of Adam (a.s.).

When Adam (a.s.) came to Makkah, he was carrying that jewel around his neck.

And it is not hidden from anyone that the covenant through which the hajar al-aswad attained its honor was the acknowledgment of Allah, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.), ʿAli (a.s.), al-Hasan (a.s.), al-Imam Husain (a.s.), and the Imams (a.s.).

Thus its honor is due to al-Imam Husain (a.s.). [1173]

Twenty-first: For the circumambulation of the Kaʿbah it is necessary to perform prayer near the maqaam Ibrahim out of respect for the House of Allah.

And the Beloved of Allah (s.a.w.a.) performed two rakʿahs of thanksgiving prayer when al-Imam Husain (a.s.) was born, and this became the established supererogatory prayer (naafelah) of Maghrib.

Likewise, he did so at the birth of Imam al-Hasan (a.s.), and this practice remained in effect until the Day of Resurrection. [1174]

Therefore, whoever performs the supererogatory prayer of Maghrib does so, as it were, in gratitude for their existence and in honor of them.

And in another narration, transmitted through a reliable chain from Imam al-Baqir (a.s.), it is stated that on the Night of Miʿraj the daily prayers were prescribed as ten rakʿahs, each prayer consisting of two rakʿahs.

Then, when al-Hasan (a.s.) and al-Imam Husain (a.s.) were born, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) added seven rakʿahs as an act of thanksgiving.

Allah then ratified this addition, and the prayers became seventeen rakʿahs. [1175]

Twenty-second: The Kaʿbah used to emit light like the sun and the moon until the time when Qabil killed Habil.

Thereafter the Kaʿbah became as it is now, as is narrated from Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.). [1176]

And in another narration, at the location of the Kaʿbah there was a red ruby whose light shone throughout the boundaries of the sanctuary (haram). [1177]
