Ibrahim Ayah 15
99-/5695: ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim said: My father narrated to me, raising it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who said: “Whoever harms his neighbor out of greed for his dwelling, Allah will make him bequeath his house to him. And it is His saying: ‘And those who disbelieved said to their messengers—(up to His saying)—So their Lord revealed to them: Most certainly We will destroy the unjust; and most certainly We will make you dwell in the land after them.’”
Quran 14:13-14 (M. H. Shakir): And those who disbelieved said to their messengers: We will certainly drive you out of our land, or you shall return into our religion. So their Lord revealed to them: Most certainly We will destroy the unjust. And most certainly We will make you dwell in the land after them; this is for him who fears My majesty and fears My threat.

99-/5696: Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from several of our companions, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Muhammad ibn Sulayman, from his father, from Abu Basir, from him (peace be upon him), said: “One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was sitting when the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) approached. The Messenger of Allah said to him: ‘There is a likeness of Jesus son of Mary in you. And were it not that groups from my community might say about you what the Christians said about Jesus son of Mary, I would say something about you such that you would not pass by any assembly of people except that they would take dust from beneath your feet seeking blessing thereby.’”
He said: “Two Bedouins, al-Mughira ibn Shu‘ba, and a number from Quraysh became angry and said: ‘He is not satisfied except to liken his cousin to Jesus son of Mary!’ So Allah revealed to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): ‘And when the son of Marium is set forth as an example, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat; and they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They set him forth only by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. And if We please, We could make among you—meaning from Banu Hashim—angels to be successors in the land.’”
Quran 43:57-60 (M. H. Shakir): And when the son of Marium is set forth as an example, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They set him forth only by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land.
He said: “Al-Harith ibn ‘Amr al-Fihri became angry and said: ‘O Allah, if this is the truth from You—that Banu Hashim will inherit, one after another—then rain down upon us stones from the sky or bring us a painful punishment.’ So Allah sent down, concerning what al-Harith said, this verse: ‘And Allah was not going to chastise them while you were among them, and Allah was not going to chastise them while yet they ask for forgiveness.’”
Quran 8:33 (M. H. Shakir): And Allah was not going to chastise them while you were among them, and Allah was not going to chastise them while yet they ask for forgiveness.

He then said to him: “O son of ‘Amr, either repent or depart.” He replied: “O Muhammad, rather, apportion to the rest of Quraysh something of what is in your hand, for Banu Hashim have taken the honor of the Arabs and the non-Arabs.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to him: “That is not up to me; that is up to Allah, blessed and exalted.” He said: “O Muhammad, my heart does not comply with repentance, but I will leave you.” He called for his mount, rode it, and when he reached the outskirts of Madinah, a stone came to him and crushed his skull. Then revelation came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): “A suppliant asked for a chastisement which must befall—for the disbelievers in the wilayah of ‘Ali, there is none to avert it—from Allah, the Lord of the Ascents.” I said: “May I be your ransom, we do not recite it like this.” He said: “Thus did Allah send it down by Jibra’il to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and thus—by Allah—it is recorded in the Mushaf of Fatimah (peace be upon her).” Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to those hypocrites around him: “Go to your companion; what he sought to hasten has come to him. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said: ‘And they sought a decision, and every insolent opposer was disappointed.’”
Quran 70:1-3 (M. H. Shakir): One demanding, demanded the chastisement which must befall, The unbelievers—there is none to avert it— From Allah, the Lord of the ways of Ascent.
Quran 14:15 (M. H. Shakir): And they sought a decision, and every insolent opposer was disappointed.
