When you recite the Book of Allah, the Exalted, and you come to a verse that contains a command and a prohibition, repeat it with reflection and consideration, and do not be heedless of that; for His prohibition indicates the avoidance of sins, and His command indicates the performance of righteousness and goodness. For Allah, the Exalted, says: How then will it be when We gather them together for a day about which there is no doubt? and every soul shall be paid fully what it has earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
Quran 3:25 (M. H. Shakir): How then will it be when We gather them together for a day about which there is no doubt? and every soul shall be paid fully what it has earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.
Say: Obey Allah and the Apostle; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.
Quran 3:32 (M. H. Shakir)
99- _1- (Tuhaf al-‘Uqul): From a sermon of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) when some people objected to his equal distribution among the people in the public treasury: “Now then—O people—we praise our Lord and our God, the Bestower of favor upon us, outwardly and inwardly, not by any power or strength of ours, but as a gift and grace to us, that He may test us whether we give thanks or are ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, He increases him; and whoever is ungrateful, He punishes him. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, One, the Self-Sufficient; and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger—He sent him as a mercy to the servants, the lands, the beasts and the cattle—a blessing He bestowed, a favor and a grace. The best of people in rank with Allah, O people, and the greatest of them in station with Allah, are those most obedient to Allah’s command, those most active in obeying Allah, those who follow most closely the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family), and those who give life to the Book of Allah. So none of Allah’s creation has any merit with us except through obedience to Allah and obedience to His Messenger (may Allah bless him and his family), and following His Book and the Sunnah of His Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family). This is the Book of Allah among us, and the covenant of the Prophet of Allah and his conduct is among us—none ignores it except an ignorant, opposing, obstinate person—[it is] from Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Allah says: O mankind! surely We have created you of a male and a female, and made you tribes and families that you may know each other; surely the most honorable of you with Allah is the one among you most careful (of his duty) [1]. So whoever is Godwary is the noble, honored and beloved one. And so too are the people of His obedience and the obedience of the Messenger of Allah. Allah says in His Book: Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful [2]. And He said: Obey Allah and the Messenger; but if they turn back, then surely Allah does not love the unbelievers.”

And He will teach him the Book and the wisdom and the Torah and the Evangel.
Quran 3:48 (M. H. Shakir)
_2 - (Majma‘ al-Bayan): From Abu ‘Ali al-Jubbā’ī, regarding His saying: “And He will teach him the Book,” it is said: He intended by it some of the scriptures that Allah, the Exalted, sent down to His prophets other than the Torah and the Gospel, such as the Zabur and others.
99- _3- And from him: from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family), concerning His saying: “And He will teach him the Book and the wisdom.” He (may Allah bless him and his family) said: “I was given the Qur’an and twice its like.” They said: He intended by it the sunan; and it is said: He intended by it all that He taught him of the fundamentals of religion.
Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed and we follow the messenger, so write us down with those who bear witness.
Quran 3:53 (M. H. Shakir)
99- _4- (Manaqib Ibn Shahrāshūb): From Imam al-Kazim (peace be upon him), regarding His, the Exalted, saying: “So write us down with those who bear witness.” He said: “We are they; we bear witness for the messengers over their nations.”
And do not believe but in him who follows your religion. Say: Surely the (true) guidance is Allah’s guidance—that one may be given the like of what you were given; or they would contend with you by argument before your Lord. Say: Surely grace is in the hand of Allah, He gives it to whom He pleases; and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing. He specially chooses for His mercy whom He pleases; and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace.
Quran 3:73-74 (M. H. Shakir)
99- _5- (Bishārat al-Muṣṭafā): From Sa‘īd ibn Zayd ibn Arṭātah, from Kumayl ibn Ziyād, from the Commander of the Faithful ‘Ali (peace be upon him)—in a narration—he said: “O Kumayl, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family) said to me, while the Emigrants and the Helpers were gathered one day after ‘Asr, on the middle day of the month of Ramadan, standing upon his pulpit on his two feet: ‘Ali and my two sons—from him—are the pure ones from me, and I am from them; and they are the pure ones after their mother; and they are a ship—whoever boards it is saved, and whoever lags behind from it falls—one who is saved is in the Garden, and the one who falls is in the Blaze. O Kumayl: Grace is in the hand of Allah—He gives it to whom He pleases—and Allah is the Lord of mighty grace. O Kumayl: Why do they envy us, while Allah brought us into being before they knew us? Do you think that by their envy of us they can remove us from our Lord?!’”
