99-/6193: Ibn Bābawayh, with his chain, from al-Husayn ibn Abī al-‘Alā’, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), said: “No servant who recites Surat Banī Isrā’īl every night of Friday will die until he meets the Qā’im (peace be upon him), and he will be among his companions.”

99-/6195: And from (Khawāṣṣ al-Qur’ān): It is narrated from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) that he said: “Whoever recites this surah and his heart softens at the mention of the parents, he will have a qintār in Paradise—and a qintār is one thousand and two hundred uqiyyahs, and one uqiyyah is better than the world and all that is in it. And whoever writes it and places it in a green silk cloth, keeps it as a protection, and shoots arrows, he will hit the mark and not miss. And if he writes it in a vessel and drinks its water, speech will not be difficult for him; his tongue will be made to utter correctly, and his understanding will increase.”
99-/6196: And from al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him): “Whoever writes it in a green silk cloth, keeps it for protection, attaches it to himself, and shoots arrows will hit the mark and never miss. And if it is written for a child who finds speech difficult, it is written in saffron and he is given its water to drink—Allah, by His permission, will make his tongue speak and he will talk.”

(Qur’an 17:1 — M. H. Shakir) Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque of which We have blessed the precincts, so that We may show to him some of Our signs; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

99-/6197: ‘Alī ibn Ibrāhīm said: My father related, from Muḥammad ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Hishām ibn Sālim, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: “Gabriel, Michael, and Isrāfīl came with the Burāq to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and his family). One took hold of the bridle, one of the stirrup, and the other adjusted his clothes upon him. The Burāq trembled, so Gabriel (peace be upon him) struck it, then said to it: ‘Be still, O Burāq! No prophet before him has ridden you, and none like him will ride you after him.’ It then broke into a soft gait with him and raised him to a height that was not excessive, while Gabriel (peace be upon him) was with him, showing him the signs of the heavens and the earth.
He (may Allah bless him and his family) said: While I was on my way, a caller called out from my right, ‘O Muḥammad!’ I did not answer him nor turn toward him. Then a caller called out from my left, ‘O Muḥammad!’ I did not answer him nor turn toward him. Then a woman confronted me, with her forearms uncovered and upon her were all the adornments of the world. She said, ‘O Muḥammad, look at me so that I may speak to you.’ I did not turn toward her. Then I went on and heard a sound that frightened me, so I went past it. Gabriel came down with me and said, ‘Pray.’ So I dismounted and prayed. He said to me, ‘Do you know where you prayed?’ I said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘You prayed at Ṭaybah, and to it will be your migration.’ Then I mounted and we went on as Allah willed. Then he said to me, ‘Dismount and pray.’ So I dismounted and prayed. He said to me, ‘Do you know where you prayed?’ I said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘You prayed at Ṭūr Sīnā’, where Allah spoke to Mūsā in direct speech.’ Then I mounted and we went on as Allah willed. Then he said, ‘Dismount and pray.’
So I dismounted and prayed. He said to me, ‘Do you know where you prayed?’ I said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘You prayed in Bayt Laḥm (Bethlehem). And Bayt Laḥm is in the vicinity of Bayt—’”
