Allah has granted miracles to the station of the Kaʿbah and to al-Imam Husain (a.s.)

خداوند براي مقام كعبه و حسين كرامات قرار داده

دوازدهم: از براي كعبه كرامت ظاهره قرار داده، كه كبوتران از بالاي آن عبور نمي‌كنند، و بر ديوار آن نمي‌نشينند.مترجم گويد: حقير هنگامي كه مشرف شدم به حج بيت‌الله، چند روز مواظب اين مطلب بودم، و در مطاف نشسته نظر به كبوتران داشتم، مي‌ديدم در حالت شدت طيران، چون به محاذي ديوار بيت مي‌رسيدند، منحرف مي‌شدند، و بطرف ديگر مي‌رفتند، و از بالاي خانه عبور نمي‌كردند، ولي اين حكم مخصوص كبوتران است، نه مطلق طيور، چنانكه مؤلف فرموده - انتهي.و از براي حسين (عليه‌السلام) نيز كرامت ظاهره بود كه آب به قبرش بستند، قبر بلند [ صفحه 374] مي‌شد، و آب به آن احاطه نمي‌كرد، و گاوها به طرف قبر مطهر نمي‌رفتند در وقتي كه متوكل مدت بيست سال امر نمود به حرث آن قبر شريف، و محو آثارش، حتي اينكه حكم كرد نبش نمودند آن قبر منور را، پس ديدند جسد شريف را كأنه در آن ساعت دفن شده، پس آن را به حال خود گذاشتند، و آب بر آن بستند، پيش نرفت، و گاوها را به سوي او حركت دادند پيش نمي‌رفتند، و مي‌ديدند جماعتي را كه تير به سوي ايشان مي‌اندازند، و اگر اينها تيري به سمت آن جماعت مي‌انداختند، تير برمي‌گشت، و به صاحبش مي‌خورد. [1145] .

Allah has granted miracles to the station of the Kaʿbah and to al-Imam Husain (a.s.)

Twelfth: Allah has granted an outward miracle to the Kaʿbah, namely that pigeons do not fly directly over it and do not perch upon its walls.

The translator says:

When I had the honor of performing the pilgrimage to the House of Allah, I observed this matter for several days. I would sit in the Mataaf (the area of circumambulation) and watch the pigeons. I would see that when they were flying swiftly and reached the level of the walls of the House, they would turn away and fly in another direction, and would not pass directly over the House.

However, this ruling is specific to pigeons and not to all birds in general, as the author has stated. End of the translator's words.

Likewise, al-Imam Husain (a.s.) possessed an outward miracle.

When water was directed toward his grave, the grave would rise up,

and the water would not surround it.

And cattle would not approach the purified grave when al-Mutawakkil, for a period of twenty years, ordered that the noble grave be ploughed and its traces erased.

He even ordered that the radiant grave be opened.

When they excavated it, they found the noble body as though it had been buried at that very hour.

Then they left it in its state.

They directed water toward it, but it did not advance.

They drove cattle toward it, but they would not proceed.

And they would see groups of people at whom arrows were being shot.

Whenever those people shot an arrow toward that group, the arrow would return and strike the one who had fired it. [1145]
