در خصوصيات حميده و اخلاق پسنديده‌ي امام حسين

كشتي شكست خورده ز طوفان كربلا درخاك و خون فتاده به ميدان كربلاگر چشم روزگار بر او فاش ميگريست خون مي‌گذشت از سر ايوان كربلابودند ديو و دد همه سيراب و مي‌مكيد خاتم ز قحط آب سليمان كربلانگرفت دست دهر گلابي بغير اشك ز آن گل كه شد شكفته به بستان كربلاز آن تشنگان هنوز بعيوق ميرسد فرياد العطش ز بيابان كربلااز آب هم مضايقه كردند كوفيان خوش داشتند حرمت مهمان كربلاآه از دميكه لشكر اعدا نكرد شرم كردند رو بخيمه‌ي سلطان كربلاآندم فلك بر آتش غيرت سپند شد كز خوف خصم در حرم افغان بلند شد [ صفحه 101]

Concerning the Noble Qualities and Praiseworthy Character of Imam Husain (a.s.)

The ship shattered by the storm of Karbala, Lies fallen in dust and blood upon the field of Karbala.

Had the eye of time openly wept for him, Blood would have flowed from the top of the palace of Karbala.

The beasts and wild animals were all well-watered, while The Solomon of Karbala sucked his ring from thirst because of the scarcity of water.

The hand of fate took no rosewater except tears From that flower which blossomed in the garden of Karbala.

From those thirsty ones, even now, as far as the star Canopus, The cry of “al-Atash! al-Atash!” (“Thirst! Thirst!”) reaches from the desert of Karbala.

The Kufans even withheld water, Such was the respect they showed to the guest of Karbala.

Alas for the moment when the enemy army felt no shame, And turned toward the tents of the King of Karbala.

At that moment the heavens became incense upon the fire of jealousy, When, out of fear of the enemy, cries arose from within the sanctuary.
