The Virtue of Surah Al-Teen

99-/11733 _1- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ:بِإِسْنَادِهِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ(وَ التِّينِ)فِي فَرَائِضِهِ وَ نَوَافِلِهِ أُعْطِيَ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ حَيْثُ يَرْضَى إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى».

99-/11733 Ibn Bābawayh, through his chain of transmission, from Abū ʿAbdillāh (peace be upon him), who said:

“Whoever recites (By the fig and the olive) [i.e., Sūrat al-Tīn] in his obligatory and supererogatory prayers will be given from Paradise wherever he desires, if Allah, the Exalted, wills.”

99-/11734 _2- وَ مِنْ(خَوَاصِّ الْقُرْآنِ):رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)،أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ السُّورَةَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ مَا لاَ يُحْصَى،وَ كَأَنَّمَا تَلَقَّى مُحَمَّداً(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)وَ هُوَ مُغْتَمٌّ فَفَرَّجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ،وَ إِذَا قُرِئَتْ عَلَى مَا يَحْضُرُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ،صَرَفَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بَأْسَ ذَلِكَ الطَّعَامِ،وَ لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِ سَمّاً قَاتِلاً،وَ كَانَ فِيهِ الشِّفَاءُ».

99-/11734 And from Khawāṣṣ al-Qur'ān: It is narrated from the Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) that he said:

“Whoever recites this sūrah [al-Tīn], Allah will record for him a reward that cannot be counted, and it is as if he met Muḥammad (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) while he was distressed, and Allah relieved him. And if it is recited over food that is being served, Allah will remove the harm from that food — even if it contains deadly poison — and it will carry healing within it.”

99-/11735 _3- وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ): «مَنْ قَرَأَهَا عَلَى مَأْكُولٍ،رَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْمَأْكُولِ،وَ لَوْ كَانَ سَمّاً،وَ صَيَّرَ فِيهِ الشِّفَاءَ».

99-/11735 And the Messenger of Allah (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said:

“Whoever recites it [Sūrat al-Tīn] over food, Allah will remove the harm of that food from him — even if it were poison — and will place healing within it.”

99-/11736 _4- وَ قَالَ الصَّادِقُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «إِذَا كُتِبَتْ وَ قُرِئَتْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ،صَرَفَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا يَضُرُّهُ،وَ كَانَ فِيهِ الشِّفَاءُ بِقُدْرَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى».

99-/11736 And al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) said:

“If it [Sūrat al-Tīn] is written and recited over some food, Allah will avert from it whatever may harm, and there will be healing in it by the power of Allah, the Exalted.”
