62. The Lofty Status of the Shrine of Imam Husain (a.s.)
In this regard, many narrations have reached us from the head of the school (madhhab), Imam al-Sadiq (a.s.), including:
1. “The place of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.), from the day he was buried there, has been one of the gardens of Paradise.”
2. “From the location of the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) up to the seventh heaven is a place frequented by the angels.”
3. “There is no creature in the heavens except that it seeks permission from Allah, the Most Generous, to visit Imam Husain (a.s.); so a group descends while another group ascends.”
4. “Around the grave of that noble one are seventy thousand angels with dusty faces and disheveled hair, who will weep over him until the Day of Judgment.”
5. “Allah, the Most Generous, has appointed four thousand angels with dusty faces and disheveled hair to stay at the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.), to weep for him until the Day of Judgment. Whoever visits him recognizing his right, they will accompany him until he reaches his place of safety; if he falls ill, they will visit him morning and evening; if he dies, they will participate in his funeral procession and pray for him until the Day of Resurrection.”
6. “On the day of Ashura, four thousand angels sought permission from Allah to aid him, but when they arrived, he had already been martyred. They remain at his grave with dusty faces and disheveled hair, weeping until the Day of Judgment and awaiting the coming of the Mahdi (a.s.).”
