Al-Hijr Ayah 97-98

إِلَى مَضَاجِعِكُمْ.

And to your resting-places.

وَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)مَكَّةَ وَ قَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)مِنَ الْيَمَنِ،فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ):أَ لاَ أُبَشِّرُكَ،يَا عَلِيُّ؟فَقَالَ:بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَ أُمِّي،لَمْ تَزَلْ مُبَشِّراً.فَقَالَ:أَ لاَ تَرَى إِلَى مَا رَزَقَنَا اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا؟وَ أَخْبَرَهُ الْخَبَرَ.فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ-قَالَ-فَأَشْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)فِي بَدَنَتِهِ أَبَاهُ وَ أُمَّهُ وَ عَمَّهُ».

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) entered Mecca, and Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) arrived to him from Yemen. The Messenger of Allah said: Shall I not give you glad tidings, O Ali? He replied: May my father and mother be ransomed for you, you have ever been a bearer of glad tidings. He said: Do you not see what Allah, Blessed and Exalted, has provided us in this journey of ours? And he informed him of the news. Ali (peace be upon him) said: Praise be to Allah. He (the narrator) said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) included his father, his mother, and his uncle in his sacrificial camel.

قوله تعالى:

وَ لَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمٰا يَقُولُونَ* فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَ كُنْ مِنَ السّٰاجِدِينَ [97-98]

Quran 15:97-98 (M. H. Shakir): And certainly We know that your breast straitens at what they say. Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance.

99-/5956 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَاسَانِيِّ جَمِيعاً،عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَصْفَهَانِيِّ،عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْمِنْقَرِيِّ،عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ،قَالَ:قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «يَا حَفْصُ إِنَّ مَنْ صَبَرَ صَبَرَ قَلِيلاً،وَ مَنْ جَزِعَ جَزِعَ قَلِيلاً،ثُمَّ قَالَ:عَلَيْكَ بِالصَّبْرِ فِي جَمِيعِ أُمُورِكَ،فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بَعَثَ مُحَمَّداً(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)،فَأَمَرَهُ بِالصَّبْرِ وَ الرِّفْقِ،فَقَالَ: وَ اصْبِرْ عَلىٰ مٰا يَقُولُونَ وَ اهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْراً جَمِيلاً* وَ ذَرْنِي وَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُولِي النَّعْمَةِ [1]،وَ قَالَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى: اِدْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَهُ عَدٰاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ* وَ مٰا يُلَقّٰاهٰا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَ مٰا يُلَقّٰاهٰا إِلاّٰ ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ [2]فَصَبَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)حَتَّى نَالُوهُ بِالْعَظَائِمِ وَ رَمَوْهُ بِهَا،فَضَاقَ صَدْرُهُ،فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهِ: وَ لَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمٰا يَقُولُونَ* فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَ كُنْ مِنَ السّٰاجِدِينَ ».

99-/5956 _1- Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, and ‘Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qasani together, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Isfahani, from Sulayman ibn Dawud al-Minqari, from Hafs ibn Ghiyath, who said: Abu ‘Abdillah (peace be upon him) said: O Hafs, whoever is patient has been patient for a little while, and whoever is impatient has been impatient for a little while. Then he said: You must adhere to patience in all your affairs, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and commanded him to be patient and gentle. So He said: And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance; and leave Me and the rejecters, possessors of ease and plenty [Quran 73:10-11]. And He, Blessed and Exalted, said: Repel evil with what is best, when lo! he between whom and yourself was enmity would be as though he were a warm friend. And none are made to receive it but those who are patient, and none are made to receive it but those who have a mighty good fortune [Quran 41:34-35]. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was patient until they assailed him with grave offenses and hurled them at him, so his breast became straitened; then Allah, Mighty and Majestic, sent down to him: And certainly We know that your breast straitens at what they say. Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance [Quran 15:97-98].

/5957 _2-و قال عليّ بن إبراهيم:ثم قال اللّه: وَ لَقَدْ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضِيقُ صَدْرُكَ بِمٰا يَقُولُونَ أي بما يكذبونك،و يذكرون اللّه فَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ وَ كُنْ مِنَ السّٰاجِدِينَ

/5957 _2- And ‘Ali ibn Ibrahim said: Then Allah said: And certainly We know that your breast straitens at what they say—that is, at their belittling you and what they ascribe to Allah. Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance.

(Surat al-Hijr)

قوله تعالى:

إِنّٰا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ إِنّٰا لَهُ لَحٰافِظُونَ [9]

Quran 15:9 (M. H. Shakir): Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian.

_1-ابن شهر آشوب،في قوله تعالى: فَسْئَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ [1]و قوله تعالى: إِنّٰا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ إِنّٰا لَهُ لَحٰافِظُونَ .

قَالَ:فِي تَفْسِيرِ يُوسُفَ الْقَطَّانِ،وَ وَكِيعِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ،وَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ السُّدِّيِّ،وَ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ،أَنَّهُ:قَالَ الْحَارِثُ:

سَأَلْتُ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ؟فَقَالَ:«وَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا نَحْنُ أَهْلُ الذِّكْرِ،نَحْنُ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ،نَحْنُ مَعْدِنُ التَّأْوِيلِ وَ التَّنْزِيلِ».

_1- Ibn Shahr Ashub, regarding His saying: So ask the People of the Reminder [Quran 16:43; 21:7] and His saying: Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian [Quran 15:9]. He said: In the tafsir of Yusuf al-Qattan, Waki‘ ibn al-Jarrah, Isma‘il al-Suddi, and Sufyan al-Thawri, that al-Harith said: I asked the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) about this verse. He said: By Allah, we are indeed the People of the Reminder; we are the people of knowledge; we are the mine of interpretation and revelation.

قوله تعالى:

وَ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنٰا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فِي شِيَعِ الْأَوَّلِينَ [10]

Quran 15:10 (M. H. Shakir): And certainly We sent messengers before you among the nations of yore.
