Al-Isra Ayah 3
الإسراء آيه 3
كَوْكَبِ الزُّهَرَةِ يَتَوَقَّدَانِ مِثْلَ النَّجْمَيْنِ الْمُضِيئَيْنِ،لَهَا شُعَاعٌ مِثْلُ شُعَاعِ الشَّمْسِ،مُنْحَدِرٌ عَنْ نَحْرِهَا الْجُمَانُ [1]، مَنْظُومَةُ الْخَلْقِ،طَوِيلَةُ الْيَدَيْنِ وَ الرِّجْلَيْنِ،لَهَا نَفْسٌ كَنَفْسِ الْآدَمِيِّينَ،تَسْمَعُ الْكَلاَمَ وَ تَفْهَمُهُ،وَ هِيَ فَوْقَ الْحِمَارِ وَ دُونَ الْبَغْلِ».
Translation:
Two like the shining stars of Venus blaze, she has a radiance like the radiance of the sun; from her throat hang pearly beads [1], her form well-proportioned, with long arms and legs; she has a soul like that of human beings, she hears speech and understands it; she is above the donkey and below the mule.
99-/6237 _3- الْبُرْسِيُّ:عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)لَمَّا جَاءَ جَبْرَئِيلُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)لَيْلَةَ الْإِسْرَاءِ بِالْبُرَاقِ وَ أَمَرَهُ عَنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ بِالرُّكُوبِ قَالَ:«مَا هَذِهِ»؟فَقَالَ:دَابَّةٌ خُلِقَتْ لِأَجْلِكَ وَ لَهَا فِي جَنَّةِ عَدْنٍ أَلْفُ سَنَةٍ.فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ):«وَ مَا سَيْرُ هَذِهِ الدَّابَّةِ؟»فَقَالَ:إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَجُوزَ بِهَا السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعَ وَ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعَ فَتَقْطَعَ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ عَامٍ أَلْفَ مَرَّةٍ [2] كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ قَدَرَتْ.
99-/6237 _3- al-Bursī: From Ibn ‘Abbās: When Gabriel (peace be upon him) came on the Night Journey with the Buraq and, by Allah’s command, ordered the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) to mount, he said: “What is this?” He replied: “A beast created for your sake, and for it there are a thousand years in the Garden of Eden.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said to him: “And what is the pace of this beast?” He said: “If you wish to pass with it through the seven heavens and the seven earths, you will traverse seventy thousand years a thousand times [2] in the twinkling of an eye—it is able to do so.”
قوله تعالى:
وَ آتَيْنٰا مُوسَى الْكِتٰابَ وَ جَعَلْنٰاهُ هُدىً لِبَنِي إِسْرٰائِيلَ أَلاّٰ تَتَّخِذُوا مِنْ دُونِي وَكِيلاً
Qur’an 17:2 (M. H. Shakir):
And We gave Musa the Book and made it a guidance to the children of Israel, saying: Do not take a protector besides Me.
/6238 _1-علي بن إبراهيم:إنّه محكم.

قوله تعالى:
ذُرِّيَّةَ مَنْ حَمَلْنٰا مَعَ نُوحٍ إِنَّهُ كٰانَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً
Qur’an 17:3 (M. H. Shakir):
The offspring of those whom We bore with Nuh; surely he was a grateful servant.
99-/6239 _2- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي(رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ)،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ الْبَزَنْطِيِّ،عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «إِنَّ نُوحاً(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَمْسَى وَ أَصْبَحَ:اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّهُ مَا أَمْسَى وَ أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَمِنْكَ،وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا
99-/6239 _2- Ibn Bābawayh said: My father (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to us, he said: Sa‘d b. ‘Abd Allāh narrated to us, from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ‘Īsā, from Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. Abī Naṣr al-Bazanṭī, from Abān b. ‘Uthmān, from Muḥammad b. Muslim, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “Indeed Nūḥ (peace be upon him) was only called ‘a grateful servant’ because he used to say when he would retire for the evening and when he would rise in the morning: O Allah, I call You to witness that whatever blessing or well-being has come to me this evening and morning, in religion or worldly life, is from You alone; You have no partner. To You belongs all praise and to You belongs thanks for it

عَلَيَّ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَ بَعْدَ الرِّضَا».
…upon me, until You are pleased and after [Your] pleasure.”
99-/6240 _2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ:قَالَ:حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ،عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ،عَنْ جَابِرٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «كَانَ نُوحٌ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَ أَمْسَى يَقُولُ:أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ مَا أَمْسَى بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ اللَّهِ،وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ،لَهُ الْحَمْدُ عَلَيَّ بِهَا وَ الشُّكْرُ كَثِيراً،فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ: إِنَّهُ كٰانَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً فَهَذَا كَانَ شُكْرَهُ».
99-/6240 _2- ʿAlī b. Ibrāhīm: He said: My father narrated to me, from Aḥmad b. al-Naḍr, from ‘Amrū b. Shimr, from Jābir, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: “Nūḥ (peace be upon him), when he rose in the morning and when he retired in the evening, would say: I testify that whatever blessing has come to me in religion or worldly life is from Allah alone; He has no partner. To Him is the praise for it upon me, and abundant thanks. So Allah revealed: Surely he was a grateful servant. This was his gratitude.”
99-/6241 _3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ،عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ،عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ،قَالَ:قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَ أَمْسَيْتَ فَقُلْ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ:اَللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَتْ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَمِنْكَ،وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَ بَعْدَ الرِّضَا.فَإِنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ ذَلِكَ كُنْتَ قَدْ أَدَّيْتَ شُكْرَ مَا أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ بِهِ عَلَيْكَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَ فِي تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ».
99-/6241 _3- Muḥammad b. Ya‘qūb: From ʿAlī b. Ibrāhīm, from his father, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Ibn Ri’āb, from Ismā‘īl b. al-Faḍl, who said: Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him) said: “When you rise in the morning and when you retire in the evening, then say ten times: O Allah, whatever blessing or well-being has come to me in religion or worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. To You belongs praise and to You belongs thanks for it upon me, O Lord, until You are pleased and after [Your] pleasure. For when you say that, you will have discharged the thanks for what Allah has bestowed upon you in that day and in that night.”
99-/6242 _4- وَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ،عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «كَانَ نُوحٌ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ [2] إِذَا أَصْبَحَ،فَسُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً».وَ قَالَ:«قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ):مَنْ صَدَقَ اللَّهَ نَجَا».
99-/6242 _4- And from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Ḥafṣ b. al-Bukhtarī, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: “Nūḥ (peace be upon him) used to say that [2] when he rose in the morning, so he was thereby named ‘a grateful servant’.” And he said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Whoever is truthful with Allah is saved.”
99-/6243 _5- وَ عَنْهُ:عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ،عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ،عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمُكَارِي،عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ:فَمَا عَنَى بِقَوْلِهِ فِي نُوحٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): إِنَّهُ كٰانَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً ؟قَالَ:
«كَلِمَاتٍ بَالَغَ فِيهِنَّ».
قُلْتُ:وَ مَا هُنَّ؟قَالَ:«كَانَ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ:أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ مَا أَصْبَحَتْ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْكَ،وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ،وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ كَثِيراً.كَانَ يَقُولُهَا إِذَا أَصْبَحَ ثَلاَثاً،وَ إِذَا أَمْسَى ثَلاَثاً».
99-/6243 _5- And from him: from ʿAlī b. Muḥammad, from some of his companions, from Muḥammad b. Sinān, from Abū Sa‘īd al-Mukārī, from Abū Ḥamzah, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: I said to him: Then what is meant by His saying about Nūḥ (peace be upon him): Surely he was a grateful servant? He said: “Words in which he was very earnest.” I said: And what are they? He said: “When he rose in the morning he would say: I rise calling You to witness that whatever blessing or well-being has come to me in religion or worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. So to You is praise for that, and to You much thanks. He would say them three times when he rose in the morning and three times when he retired in the evening.”
99-/6244 _6- الْعَيَّاشِيُّ:عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «كَانَ نُوحٌ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)إِذَا أَصْبَحَ قَالَ:اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ مَا كَانَ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ وَ عَافِيَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنْكَ،وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،لَكَ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَ بَعْدَ الرِّضَا».
99-/6244 _6- Al-‘Ayyāshī: From Ḥafṣ b. al-Bukhtarī, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: “Nūḥ (peace be upon him), when he rose in the morning, would say: O Allah, whatever blessing and well-being there is in religion or worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. To You belongs the dominion, and to You belongs thanks for it upon me, O Lord, until You are pleased and after [Your] pleasure.”
99-/6245 _7- عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْبَخْتَرِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ نُوحٌ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)عَبْداً شَكُوراً
99-/6245 _7- From Ḥafṣ b. al-Bukhtarī, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: “Nūḥ (peace be upon him) was only named ‘a grateful servant’
لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَ أَمْسَى:اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ مَا أَصْبَحَ وَ أَمْسَى بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ عَافِيَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَمِنْكَ،وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهِ عَلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَ بَعْدَ الرِّضَا.يَقُولُهَا إِذَا أَصْبَحَ عَشْراً وَ إِذَا أَمْسَى عَشْراً».
…because he used to say, when he rose in the morning and when he retired in the evening: O Allah, whatever blessing and well-being has come to me in religion or worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. To You belongs praise and to You belongs thanks for it upon me, O Lord, until You are pleased and after [Your] pleasure. He would say it ten times when he rose in the morning and ten times when he retired in the evening.”
99-/6246 _8- عَنْ جَابِرٍ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِهِ: كٰانَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً .
قَالَ:«كَانَ إِذَا أَمْسَى وَ أَصْبَحَ يَقُولُ:أَمْسَيْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّهُ مَا أَمْسَتْ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ،لَهُ الْحَمْدُ بِهَا وَ الشُّكْرُ كَثِيراً».
99-/6246 _8- From Jābir, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), regarding His saying: “He was a grateful servant.” He said: “When he retired in the evening and when he rose in the morning, he would say: I retire this evening calling You to witness that whatever blessing has come to me in religion or worldly life is from Allah alone; He has no partner. To Him belongs praise for it, and much thanks.”
99-/6247 _9- عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ الثُّمَالِيِّ،عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)قَالَ: قُلْتُ لَهُ:مَا عَنَى اللَّهُ بِقَوْلِهِ لِنَوْحٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):
إِنَّهُ كٰانَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً ؟ فَقَالَ:«كَلِمَاتٌ بَالَغَ فِيهِنَّ-وَ قَالَ-كَانَ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ وَ أَمْسَى قَالَ:اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ أَنَّهُ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فِي دِينٍ أَوْ دُنْيَا فَإِنَّهُ مِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ،وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ بِهَا عَلَيَّ يَا رَبِّ حَتَّى تَرْضَى وَ بَعْدَ الرِّضَا.فَسُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ عَبْداً شَكُوراً».
99-/6247 _9- From Abū Ḥamzah al-Thumālī, from Abū Ja‘far (peace be upon him), who said: I said to him: What did Allah mean by His saying to Nūḥ (peace be upon him): Surely he was a grateful servant? He said: “Words in which he was very earnest.” And he said: “When he rose in the morning and when he retired in the evening, he would say: O Allah, I rise calling You to witness that whatever blessing has come to me in religion or worldly life is from You alone; You have no partner. And to You belongs thanks for it upon me, O Lord, until You are pleased and after [Your] pleasure. So he was thereby named ‘a grateful servant’.”

قوله تعالى:
وَ قَضَيْنٰا إِلىٰ بَنِي إِسْرٰائِيلَ فِي الْكِتٰابِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَ لَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيراً -إلى قوله تعالى- وَ جَعَلْنٰاكُمْ أَكْثَرَ نَفِيراً
Qur’an 17:4-6 (M. H. Shakir):
And We had made known to the children of Israel in the Book: You will certainly make mischief in the land twice, and you will most certainly behave insolently with great insolence. So when the first of the two warnings came, We sent against you Our servants, of mighty prowess, so they went to and fro among the houses, and it was a promise to be accomplished. Then We gave you back the turn to prevail over them, and aided you with wealth and children and made you a numerous band.
99-/6248 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ:عَنْ عِدَّةٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا،عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ،عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَمُّونٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَصَمِّ،عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ الْبَطَلِ،عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى:
وَ قَضَيْنٰا إِلىٰ بَنِي إِسْرٰائِيلَ فِي الْكِتٰابِ لَتُفْسِدُنَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَّتَيْنِ .
قَالَ:«قَتْلُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)وَ طَعْنُ الْحَسَنِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) وَ لَتَعْلُنَّ عُلُوًّا كَبِيراً -قَالَ-قَتْلُ الْحُسَيْنِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) فَإِذٰا جٰاءَ وَعْدُ أُولاٰهُمٰا فَإِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ دَمِ الْحُسَيْنِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) بَعَثْنٰا عَلَيْكُمْ عِبٰاداً لَنٰا أُولِي بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ فَجٰاسُوا خِلاٰلَ الدِّيٰارِ قَوْمٌ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ الْقَائِمِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)،فَلاَ يَدَعُونَ وِتْراً [1] لِآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ إِلاَّ قَتَلُوهُ وَ كٰانَ وَعْداً مَفْعُولاً خُرُوجُ الْقَائِمِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) ثُمَّ رَدَدْنٰا لَكُمُ الْكَرَّةَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَلَيْهِمْ خُرُوجُ الْحُسَيْنِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)فِي سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَيْضُ الْمُذَهَّبُ،لِكُلِّ بَيْضَةٍ وَجْهَانِ،الْمُؤَدُّونَ إِلَى النَّاسِ:أَنَّ هَذَا
99-/6248 _1- Muḥammad b. Ya‘qūb: From a number of our companions, from Sahl b. Ziyād, from Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan b. Shammūn, from ‘Abd Allāh b. ‘Abd al-Raḥmān al-Aṣamm, from ‘Abd Allāh b. al-Qāsim al-Baṭal, from Abū ‘Abd Allāh (peace be upon him), regarding His saying, exalted is He: And We had made known to the Children of Israel in the Book: You will certainly make mischief in the land twice. He said: “The killing of ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him) and the stabbing of al-Ḥasan (peace be upon him); and you will most certainly behave insolently with great insolence—he said: the killing of al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon him). So when the first of the two promises comes—when the help for the blood of al-Ḥusayn (peace be upon him) comes—We will send against you Our servants, possessed of mighty power, and they will go to and fro among the houses: a people whom Allah will send before the rise of the Qā’im (peace be upon him); they will not leave any offender [1] against the Family of Muḥammad without killing him; and it was a promise to be accomplished—the rise of the Qā’im (peace be upon him).
