دخول ماه محرم سبب حزن و بكاء

هشتم: دخول ماه شهادتش كه محرم است، سبب حزن و بكاء تمام مرد و زن است. [578] .نهم: ورود به زمين دفنش باعث حزن و اندوه است، چنانكه نسبت به جميع انبياء واقع شد، چون وارد است كه همه‌ي انبياء زيارت نموده‌اند آن مقام شريف را و گفته‌اند: اي زمين در تو دفن خواهد شد ماه تابان و برج امامت، و هر كدام كه وارد شدند صدمه بر ايشان وارد شد، دلتنگ و مهموم شدند پس از خداوند سؤال نمودند از سبب آن، پس وحي رسيد كه اين زمين كربلا است كه در آن حسين (عليه‌السلام) شهيد خواهد شد [579] ، اين امر در اهل بيت هم محقق شد در وقتي كه به كربلا وارد شدند، چنانكه مروي است، ام‌كلثوم عرض كرد كه اي برادر عجب زمين هولناكي است اين صحرا، فرمودند: [580] كه پدرم در اين زمين به خواب رفت پس بيدار شد گريان و فرمود در خواب ديدم كه فرزندم حسين در درياي خون مضطرب است، بعد فرمود: يا اباعبدالله چگونه خواهي بود در وقتي كه اين حادثه واقع شود در اينجا. [581] .دهم: شنيدن اسم آن زمين است، چنانكه خود آن جناب چون به اين زمين وارد گرديد، از اسم آن سؤال كرد چند اسم براي آن ذكر كردند عاقبت گفتند: آنرا كربلا مي‌نامند، پس اشك در چشم آن حضرت آمد عرض كرد خدايا پناه به تو مي‌برم از كرب و [ صفحه 211] بلا، اينجا است محل خوابگاه شتران ما و افتادن بارهاي ما و ريخته شدن خونهاي ما و ذبح شدن طفلهاي ما، در اين زمين خون من و اصحاب من ريخته مي‌شود، و عيال من به ذلت اسيري مبتلا مي‌گردند، بارها را بيندازيد كه ديگر ما از اينجا كوچ نخواهيم كرد. [582] .يازدهم: آب سرد نوشيدن است و آن هميشه از اسباب گريه‌ي حضرت صادق (عليه‌السلام) بود چنانكه داود رقي روايت نموده كه نزد آن جناب بودم پس آب نوشيد و گريان گرديد و فرمود: ذكر حسين (عليه‌السلام) عيش ما را منغص كرده هر وقت آب سرد مي‌نوشم ياد مي‌آورم او را [583] و از خود آن سرور منقول است كه فرموده‌اند: «شيعتي ما ان شربتم عذب ماء فاذكروني» [584] : اي شيعيان هر وقت آب خوشگوار بنوشيد مرا ياد نمائيد.دوازدهم: بوئيدن تربت مباركش و آن گريانيد پيغمبر خدا را، چنانكه از حضرت امير (عليه‌السلام) مرويست كه داخل شدم بر پيغمبر(صلي الله عليه و آله) و ديدم اشك از چشم مباركش جاري است، عرض كردم: پدر و مادرم فداي تو باد يا رسول‌الله چرا اشك مي‌ريزي؟ مگر كسي تو را به خشم آورده؟ فرمود نه، لكن حالا جبرئيل در نزد من بود و به من خبر داد كه حسين (عليه‌السلام) را نزد شط فرات به قتل آورند واگر خواسته باشي تربتش را بو نمائي بياورم، گفتم: آري، پس دست خود را دراز كرد و قبضه‌ي خاكي آورد و به من داد، پس بي‌اختيار اشكم جاري گرديد. [585] .همچنين حضرت رضا (عليه‌السلام) چنانكه ابي‌بكار روايت كرده كه به زيارت كربلا رفتم و از نزد سمت سر مبارك قدري گل سرخ برداشتم و چون به خدمت حضرت رضا (عليه‌السلام) رسيدم آن گل را به او نمودم پس گرفت آنرا و بوئيد و گريست به نحويكه اشكش جاري شد و گفت اين بوي تربت جدم حسين (عليه‌السلام) است. [ صفحه 212] سيزدهم: شنيدن اسم شهيدي يا غريبي يا مظلومي، زيرا كه آن مذكر آن حضرت است چنانكه فرمود: «او سمعتم بشهيد او غريب فاندبوني»: [هرگاه نام شهيد و يا غريبي بشنويد بر من گريه كنيد.] [587] .چهاردهم: مصيبتهاي آنحضرت در وقت شنيدن يا تصور كردن آن به تفصيلاتي كه در فصل بعد ذكر مي‌شود (ان شاء الله).

The entry of the month of Muharram is a cause of sorrow and weeping.

Verily, the entry of the month [of Muharram], which constitutes the time of his martyrdom, is a cause of sorrow and weeping for all men and women. [578]

The arrival on the land of his burial is a cause of grief and sorrow, just as it happened for all Prophets. It has been narrated that all the Prophets visited that noble مقام and said: "O land, in you will be buried the luminous moon and the pinnacle of Imamate," and each one who entered was afflicted, anxious, and distressed. They asked God about the cause of this, and revelation came that this land is Karbala, where Imam Husain (a.s.) (peace be upon him) will be martyred. [579]

This matter also manifested itself among the Ahl al-Bayt when they entered Karbala, as has been narrated. Umm Kulthum said: "O brother, what a terrifying land this plain is." He replied: [580] "My father fell asleep in this land; then he awoke weeping and said, 'In my sleep, I saw my son Imam Husain (a.s.) trembling in a sea of blood.' Then he said: 'O Aba Abdillah, how will you be when this incident occurs here? [581]

The tenth cause is the hearing of the name of that land, just as the noble individual, when he entered this land, asked about its name. Several names were mentioned for it, and eventually, they said: "It is called Karbala." Then tears came to the eyes of that noble one, and he said: "O God, I seek refuge with You from affliction and calamity. This is the place of rest for our camels and the place where our burdens will fall, and the shedding of our blood, and the slaughtering of our children will take place. In this land, my blood and the blood of my companions will be shed, and my family will be subjected to the humiliation of captivity. Lay down the burdens, for indeed we will not depart from this place." [582]

The eleventh cause is drinking cold water, which was always among the reasons for the tears of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him). It has been narrated by Dawud al-Ruqy that I was with him, and he drank water and began to weep, saying: "The mention of Imam Husain (a.s.) (peace be upon him) has made our life bitter; whenever I drink cold water, I remember him." [583] It is reported from that noble figure that he said: "O my Shia, whenever you drink sweet water, remember me." [584]

The twelfth cause is the smelling of his blessed soil, which made the Messenger of God weep. It is narrated from Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him) that I entered upon the Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) and saw tears streaming from his blessed eyes. I said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of God, why do you weep? Has someone made you angry?" He said: "No, but Gabriel was just with me and informed me that Imam Husain (a.s.) (peace be upon him) will be killed by the banks of the Euphrates. If you wish, I can bring his soil to smell." I said: "Yes." Then he stretched out his hand and brought forth a handful of soil, giving it to me, and my tears began to flow uncontrollably. [585]

Also, Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him), as narrated by Abu Bakr, stated that when I visited Karbala, I took some red flowers from near the noble head. When I reached the service of Imam al-Ridha (peace be upon him), I showed him the flowers. He took them, smelled them, and wept so that his tears flowed, saying: "This is the scent of the soil of my grandfather Imam Husain (a.s.) (peace be upon him)." [586]

The thirteenth cause is hearing the name of a martyr, or an estranged one, or an oppressed one, for it is a mention of that noble one, as he said: "If you hear of a martyr or a stranger, then weep for me." [587]

The fourteenth cause is the tribulations of that noble one at the time of hearing or thinking about them in the details that will be mentioned in the next chapter (God willing).
