89. Disaster Averted by the Cry of “Yā Abā al-Faḍl”

The late Shaykh Ḥasan Baṣīrī narrates from the late Ḥājj Mahdī Akhrawī, who said:

“Before the construction of the new road, one day we were returning from Urmia. At the top of the Qūshchī pass, we came across a group of our townsmen who were visibly shaken and terrified.

One of them, a member of the Riāḍī family, grabbed my hand and said:

‘Akhrawī! Come and witness the miracle of Hazrat Abū al-Faḍl (a.s.).’ Then he explained:

‘Our bus had veered off the top of the mountain pass and was heading straight toward a gorge that was at least 500 meters deep. In that moment of terror, all the passengers cried out in unison:

“Yā Abā al-Faḍl!”

Suddenly, the door of the bus opened on its own and struck the ground like a strong pillar, halting the bus from plunging further. Because of this, the bus came to a complete stop, and all the passengers safely exited the vehicle, unharmed.’” (2)
