S 57 Ayat 26

قوله تعالى:

وَ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنٰا نُوحاً وَ إِبْرٰاهِيمَ وَ جَعَلْنٰا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا النُّبُوَّةَ وَ الْكِتٰابَ فَمِنْهُمْ مُهْتَدٍ وَ كَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فٰاسِقُونَ [26]

And certainly We sent Nuh and Ibrahim, and We gave prophethood and the book to their offspring; so there are among them those who go aright, but most of them are transgressors.

99-/10536 _1- ابْنُ بَابَوَيْهِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ شَاذَوَيْهِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ،وَ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْرُورٍ(رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا)،قَالاَ:حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ،عَنْ أَبِيهِ،عَنِ الرَّيَّانِ بْنِ الصَّلْتِ،عَنِ الرِّضَا(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) -فِي حَدِيثِ الْمَأْمُونِ مَعَ الْعُلَمَاءِ،وَ قَدْ أَشَرْنَا لَهُ غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ-قَالَتِ الْعُلَمَاءُ:أَخْبِرْنَا-يَا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ-عَنِ الْعِتْرَةِ،أَ هُمُ الْآلُ أَمْ غَيْرُ الْآلِ؟فَقَالَ الرِّضَا(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):«هُمُ الْآلُ».

فَقَالَتِ الْعُلَمَاءُ:فَهَذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ)يُؤْثَرُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:«أُمَّتِي آلِي»وَ هَؤُلاَءِ أَصْحَابُهُ يَقُولُونَ بِالْخَبَرِ الْمُسْتَفَاضِ الَّذِي لاَ يُمْكِنُ دَفْعُهُ:آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ:أُمَّتُهُ.

Ibn Bābawayh said: ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn Shādhawayh al-Muʾaddib and Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Masrūr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn Jaʿfar al-Ḥimyari narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rayyān ibn al-Ṣalt, from al-Riḍā (peace be upon him) — in the context of the conversation of al-Maʾmūn with the scholars, which we have referred to more than once —

The scholars said: “O Abā al-Ḥasan, inform us about the ʿitrah — are they the Āl (family) or are they other than the Āl?”

So al-Riḍā (peace be upon him) said: “They are the Āl.”

The scholars said: “Then this is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), from whom it is narrated that he said: ‘My Ummah is my Āl.’ And these are his companions who relate through a well-known widespread report that cannot be denied: ‘The Āl of Muḥammad is his Ummah.’”

فَقَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):«أَخْبِرُونِي هَلْ تَحْرُمُ الصَّدَقَةُ عَلَى الْآلِ»؟قَالُوا:نَعَمْ.قَالَ:«فَتَحْرُمُ عَلَى الْأُمَّةِ»؟ قَالُوا:لاَ.قَالَ:«هَذَا فَرْقٌ بَيْنَ الْآلِ وَ الْأُمَّةِ،وَيْحَكُمْ أَيْنَ يُذْهَبُ بِكُمْ؟أَ ضَرَبْتُمْ عَنِ الذِّكْرِ صَفْحاً أَمْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْرِفُونَ؟ أَ مَا عَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّهُ وَقَعَتِ الْوِرَاثَةُ وَ الطَّهَارَةُ عَلَى الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ دُونَ سَائِرِهِمْ»؟قَالُوا:وَ مِنْ أَيْنَ،يَا أَبَا الْحَسَنِ؟

Abū al-Ḥasan (peace be upon him) said: “Tell me — is ṣadaqah forbidden for the Āl (family)?” They said: “Yes.” He said: “Then is it forbidden for the Ummah?” They said: “No.” He said: “This is the difference between the Āl and the Ummah. Woe unto you! Where are you being led? Have you turned away from the Reminder, or are you a people of excess? Do you not know that inheritance and purity have been placed upon the chosen, rightly guided ones — excluding the rest?”

They said: “And from where (is that), O Abā al-Ḥasan?”

فَقَالَ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ):«مَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: وَ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنٰا نُوحاً وَ إِبْرٰاهِيمَ وَ جَعَلْنٰا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا النُّبُوَّةَ وَ الْكِتٰابَ فَمِنْهُمْ مُهْتَدٍ وَ كَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فٰاسِقُونَ فَصَارَتْ وِرَاثَةُ النُّبُوَّةِ وَ الْكِتَابِ لِلْمُهْتَدِينَ دُونَ الْفَاسِقِينَ.أَ مَا عَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ نُوحاً(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) حِينَ سَأَلَ رَبَّهُ تَعَالَى ذِكْرُهُ،فَقَالَ: رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَ إِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَ أَنْتَ أَحْكَمُ الْحٰاكِمِينَ [1]وَ ذَلِكَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَعَدَهُ أَنْ يُنْجِيَهُ وَ أَهْلَهُ،فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ: يٰا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صٰالِحٍ فَلاٰ تَسْئَلْنِ مٰا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجٰاهِلِينَ [2]؟».

He (peace be upon him) said: “From the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: And certainly We sent Nuh and Ibrahim, and We gave to their offspring the prophethood and the Book; so there are among them those who go aright, but most of them are transgressors — thus, the inheritance of prophethood and the Book is for the rightly guided ones, not the transgressors.

Do you not know that when Nuh (peace be upon him) asked his Lord — the Exalted — and said: My Lord! Surely my son is of my family! And surely Thy promise is true, and Thou art the most just of Judges [Qur’an 11:45], this was because Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, had promised him that He would save him and his family.

So his Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, said to him: O Nuh! Surely he is not of your family; surely he is (the doer of) other than good deeds, therefore ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge; surely I admonish you lest you be of the ignorant [Qur’an 11:46]?”
