Al-Mustadrak (Surah Ar-Ra'd)
Quran 13:26 — Allah amplifies and straitens the means of subsistence for whom He pleases; and they rejoice in this world's life; and this world's life is nothing compared with the Hereafter but a temporary enjoyment. (M. H. Shakir)

99- _1- Al-Tabrisi, in Makarem al-Akhlaq, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud—in a long narration—from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), that he said to him: “O Ibn Mas‘ud, what benefit is there for one who luxuriates in this world if he is made to abide forever in the Fire? They know the outward of this world’s life, and of the Hereafter they are heedless [1]. They build houses, fortify palaces, and adorn mosques; their only concern is the world—attached to it, relying upon it. Their bellies are their gods. Allah, the Exalted, said: And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may abide; and when you lay hands (on men) you lay hands (like) tyrants; so guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me [2]. And Allah, the Exalted, said: Have you then considered him who takes his low desire for his god, and Allah has made him err in spite of knowledge and has set a seal upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his eye. Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be mindful? [3] He is nothing but a hypocrite: he has made his religion his desire and his god his belly; whatever he craves—lawful or unlawful—he does not refrain from it. Allah, the Exalted, said: And they rejoice in this world's life; and this world's life is nothing compared with the Hereafter but a temporary enjoyment.”
قوله تعالى:
كَذٰلِكَ أَرْسَلْنٰاكَ فِي أُمَّةٍ -إلى قوله تعالي- بِالرَّحْمٰنِ [30]
Quran 13:30 — Thus have We sent you among a nation before which (other) nations have passed away, that you might recite to them what We have revealed to you, and still they deny the Beneficent. Say: He is my Lord, there is no god but He; on Him do I rely, and to Him is my return. (M. H. Shakir)
99- _2- Al-Tabrisi, in Majma‘ al-Bayan: from Qatadah, Muqatil, and Ibn Jurayj, regarding His saying, the Exalted: Thus have We sent you among a nation…
