At the Moment of Martyrdom

At the Moment of Martyrdom

The Seventh Appeal:

This occurred at the moment of martyrdom itself.

It was greater than all the previous appeals.

It affected all of existence and stirred everything into motion.

It cast tremors throughout the regions of the universe.

It moved every fixed and motionless thing from its place.

Even the Mighty Throne (ʿArsh) and all that is above and below it, Paradise and Hell, and everything that is seen and everything that is unseen were affected by it.

The details and particular manifestations of this have been alluded to in the section concerning the martyrdom, and its full description cannot be adequately expressed in writing, speech, or even imagination. [957]

Therefore, when you have conceived of it, even in a general way, then follow the example of the rest of creation and pronounce the seventh talbiyah.

Say:

“If my body did not answer your call at that time, then now I answer you with my heart, my hearing, my sight, my hands, my limbs, my faculties, my lamentation, my cries, my wailing, my grief,

my tears, my sobbing, and with every part of my being and every state of my existence.” [958]

And when these seven responses and seven talbiyahs proceed from you, then in return for every talbiyah you shall hear a talbiyah, and in return for every response you shall receive a response to your own.
