S 56 Ayat 13 to 17
قوله تعالى:
ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ -إلى قوله تعالى- يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدٰانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ [13-17]
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
"A multitude from among the first, And a few from among the latter. (They shall be) on thrones decorated, Reclining on them, facing one another. Round about them shall go youths never altering in age," [Surah Al-Waqi‘ah 56:13–17, translation by M. H. Shakir]

99-/10387 _1- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ،قَالَ:حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَرِيرِ،عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يَحْيَى،عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ،
عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ،عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ) ،فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ* وَ قَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ ، قَالَ: ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ابْنُ آدَمَ الَّذِي قَتَلَهُ أَخُوهُ،وَ مُؤْمِنُ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ،وَ حَبِيبٌ النَّجَّارُ صَاحِبُ يَس: وَ قَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)».
99-/10387 Muhammad ibn al-‘Abbas said: Muhammad ibn al-Ḥarīr narrated to us, from Aḥmad ibn Yaḥyā, from al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥusayn, from Muḥammad ibn al-Furāt, from Ja‘far ibn Muḥammad (peace be upon him), regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "A multitude from among the first, and a few from among the latter" [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:13–14, M. H. Shakir], he said:
“A multitude from among the first are: the son of Adam who was killed by his brother, the believer from the family of Pharaoh, and Ḥabīb al-Najjār, the companion of Yā Sīn; and a few from among the latter is ‘Ali ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him).”
99-/10388 _2- ابْنُ الْفَارِسِيِّ فِي(الرَّوْضَةِ):قَالَ الْإِمَامُ الصَّادِقُ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ابْنُ آدَمَ الْمَقْتُولُ، وَ مُؤْمِنُ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ،وَ صَاحِبُ يَس، وَ قَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ)».
99-/10388 Ibn al-Fārisī in Al-Rawḍah: Imam al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) said:
"A multitude from among the first: the slain son of Adam, the believer from the family of Pharaoh, and the companion of Yā Sīn; and a few from among the latter: ‘Ali ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him)."** [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:13–14, M. H. Shakir]
/10389 _3-علي بن إبراهيم،في قوله تعالى: ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِينَ ،قال:هم أتباع الأنبياء وَ قَلِيلٌ مِنَ الْآخِرِينَ هم أتباع النبيّ محمد [1](صلّى اللّه عليه و آله) عَلىٰ سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ ،أي منصوبة يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدٰانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ ،أي مسرورون [2].
99-/10389 ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm, regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "A multitude from among the first" [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:13, M. H. Shakir], said: "They are the followers of the [previous] prophets." "And a few from among the latter" [56:14], he said: "They are the followers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family)."
"On thrones decorated" [56:15], meaning: raised thrones. "There shall serve them youths never altering in age" [56:17], meaning: joyful ones.
99-/10390 _4- الطَّبْرِسِيُّ،فِي مَعْنَى الْوِلْدَانِ:عَنْ عَلِيٍّ(عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ): «أَنَّهُمْ أَوْلاَدُ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا،لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ حَسَنَاتٌ فَيُثَابُوا عَلَيْهَا،وَ لاَ سَيِّئَاتٌ فَيُعَاقَبُوا عَلَيْهَا،فَأُنْزِلُوا هَذِهِ الْمَنْزِلَةَ».
99-/10390 Al-Ṭabrisī, regarding the meaning of al-wildān (the youths): from ‘Ali (peace be upon him), who said:
“They are the children of the people of the world, who had neither good deeds to be rewarded for, nor bad deeds to be punished for—so they were placed in this station.” [Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:17, M. H. Shakir – "There shall serve them youths never altering in age."]
99-/10391 _5- قَالَ:وَ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَطْفَالِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ،فَقَالَ:«هُمْ خُدَّامُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ».
99-/10391 It is narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) that he was asked about the children of the polytheists, and he said: "They are the servants of the people of Paradise."
