S 55 Ayat 1 to 13
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. The Beneficent God, Taught the Qur'an. He created man, Taught him the mode of expression. The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, And the herbs and the trees do adore (Him). And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance, That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny?

I said: "The sun and the moon [move] according to a reckoning" [al-Raḥmān 55:5]? He said: "They are punished." I said: "The sun and the moon are punished?" He said: "If you ask about something, then be precise. The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They run by His command, obedient to Him. Their light is from the light of His Throne, and their mass is from Hell. So when the Day of Resurrection comes, their light returns to the Throne, and their mass returns to the Fire. Thus, there will be no sun and no moon. What was meant [in the verse] — may Allah curse them — haven’t the people narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih) said: ‘The sun and the moon are two lights [in the Fire]’?” I said: "Yes." He said: "And haven’t you heard the people say: ‘So-and-so and so-and-so are the sun and moon of this nation and its light’? They are in the Fire, by Allah — no one else was meant."

I said: "And the star and the tree both prostrate" [al-Raḥmān 55:6]? He said: "The star is the Messenger of Allah (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih), and indeed Allah has called him [by this name] in other places, as He said: By the star when it sets [al-Najm 53:1], and He said: And [He has placed] landmarks and by the star they are guided [al-Naḥl 16:16]. The landmarks are the successors (al-awṣiyā’), and the star is the Messenger of Allah (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa ālih)."
I said: "They both prostrate?" He said: "They both worship."

I said: "That you may not transgress the balance" [55:8]? He said: "Do not disobey the Imam."
I said: "And establish the weight with justice" [55:9]? He said: "Establish the Imam with fairness."
I said: "And do not make deficient the balance" [55:9]? He said: "Do not deprive the Imam of his due, and do not wrong him."
And regarding His saying: "And the earth, He has set it down for the creatures" [55:10], He said: "For the people."
"Therein is fruit and date-palms having sheaths" [55:11], He said: "The fruit of the date-palm grows within its sheath, then it emerges from it."

And regarding His saying, "And the grain having husks and fragrant herbs" [al-Raḥmān 55:12], He said: "The grain means wheat, barley, and other grains; the husk refers to the fig; and the fragrant herb (rayḥān) is that which is eaten from it."
And regarding His saying, "Then which of the favors of your Lord will you both deny?" [55:13], He said: "On the outward level, it is an address to the jinn and humankind; and on the inner level, it refers to so-and-so and so-and-so."

“O Dāwūd, you have asked about a matter — suffice yourself with what is conveyed to you. The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They run in accordance with His command.
