On the Characteristics of Humility and Supplication of that Noble Imam (a.s.)

در خصوصيات خشوع و مناجات آن حضرت

ترسم جزاي قاتل او چون رقم زنند يكباره بر جريده‌ي رحمت قلم زنندترسم كزين گناه شفيعان روز حشر دارند شرم كز گنه خلق دم زنندفرياد از آنزمان كه جوانان اهلبيت گلگون كفن بعرصه‌ي محشر قدم زننددست عتاب حق بدر آيد ز آستين چون اهل بيت دست بر اهل ستم زنندجمعي كه زد بهم صفشان شور كربلا در حشر صف زنان صف محشر بهم زنندآه از دميكه با كفن خون چكان ز خاك آل علي چو شعله‌ي آتش علم زننداز صاحب عزا چه توقع كنند باز آن ناكسان كه تيغ به صيد حرم زنندپس بر سنان كنند سري را كه جبرئيل شويد غبار گيسويش از آب سلسبيل [ صفحه 195]

On the Characteristics of Humility and Supplication of that Noble Imam (a.s.)

I fear that when the punishment of his killer is decreed, the Pen may suddenly be drawn across the record of mercy.

I fear that because of this sin, the intercessors of the Day of Resurrection will be ashamed even to speak about the sins of mankind.

Alas for the moment when the youths of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.), clothed in blood-stained shrouds, step into the Plain of Resurrection.

When the Hand of Divine Reproach emerges from its sleeve, and the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) raise their hands against the people of oppression.

Those whose ranks were shattered by the upheaval of Karbalāʾ will advance in rows on the Day of Resurrection and throw its ranks into disorder.

Alas for the moment when the family of ʿAlī (a.s.), rising from the earth with blood-dripping shrouds, raise their banners like flames of fire.

What can those wretched people expect from the Master of the mourning assembly, those who drew their swords against the prey of the Sacred Sanctuary?

Then they placed upon a spear the head of one whose dust from his hair Jibrāʾīl would wash with the waters of Salsabīl.
